Vol. 15, No. 21 – July 13 – July 26, 2022 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Hanzi (Hans for short), a very high-energy and happy almost 2 year old Parson Russell Terrier / Pomeranian X who is in need of a new home as my mom broke her hip and can no longer care for me.

When I came to C.A.R.L. I was very dog reactive and if given the chance I would sometimes redirect on my handler. Thankfully funds were raised and I was able to attend a board and train facility to help me work on this.

I have learned a lot during my time with my trainer and I’m ready for my new home. My trainer recommends a home with plenty of structure and with someone who is able to prioritize my needs. I need multiple hours of activity daily in order to meet my energy level.

If you can give me the structured environment and exercise I need to thrive, please fill out an online application to meet me.

Hi: I’m Milo, a very sweet almost 8 year old Maltese in need of a new home as my owners can no longer afford my medical care for skin allergies and sometimes I get ear and eye infections.

I’m taking Prednisone every other day and need a medicated bath at least once a week to help with my skin allergies. It was also recommended that Genteal brand eye ointment be put in both my eyes twice a day.

I’m good with other dogs and cats. I’ve been around children as young as 8 months old and did fine. I enjoy walks, a comfy lap, children, older people and watching tv next to someone.

If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Meet Sammie, a cuddly 5-year-old Bull Terrier! She’s a happy, playful, snuggly lapdog. She loves walks and belly scratches! She was non-reactive when walking past other shelter dogs and did very well with unfamiliar people. She truly seems like a people-pleaser! If you’re interested in adopting Sammie, please come to the Camarillo Shelter and ask for her by name, or schedule an Adoption Counseling appointment at https://www.vcas.us/adopt.

Hi: I’m Princessa, a 11/2-year-old beautiful Pit Bull / Shepherd X in need of a new home as my owners moved and I couldn’t go too. I’d make a great family dog as I’m good with children, other dogs, and cats too. I enjoy playing with balls and toys. I know some basic commands sit and stay and would be more than happy to learn more.

I know my breed gets a bad rap. Hopefully you’ll give me a chance and fill out an online application to meet me. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Meet Jackson (10), Stacey (13) & Tessie (7), bonded triplets! They were surrendered due to housing issues. These older bunnies need a quiet place where they can call their own. Three rabbits are really no different than adopting 2 or even 1. Adopting multiple bunnies come with advantages: they play and groom each other, so you won’t have to worry about them being lonely and there won’t be too much of a need for them to be groomed! If you’re interested in adopting an indoor house rabbit like these little ones, please contact the VCAS Bunny Brigade at [email protected].

Hi: I’m Mystic, a handsome almost 1 1/2 year old pocket Chow and I’m Nebula, a beautiful almost 2 year old pocket Chow.  We are in need of a new home together as our owners are too busy with their business to give us the attention we are used to having. We’re both dog and people friendly and love attention.  It’s unknown if we would get along with children or cats.

Mystic: I walk well but pull a bit. I’ll steal your heart as I’m so lovable and enjoy being pet. I will enjoy a more quiet home since the kennel environment is getting to me.

Nebula: A real sweetheart and smaller than Mystic. I’m not leash trained but I’m getting there. I’m a fast learner with commands such as sit and place.

We love each other so must be adopted together. We will not be separated. If you’re not looking for two dogs, then please consider another CARL dog up for adoption.

If you’re interested in meeting us, please fill out an online application. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Hi: I’m Mishka (means mouse), a beautiful 5 ½ year old German Shepherd X in need of a new home as my elderly owner needs major surgery and can no longer care for me.

I enjoy treats and running around. I’m nervous and bark at new people and need a little time to get to know you. Once I do I’m sweet, friendly and energetic. I’m smart and will sit for those I know.

I’m good with other dogs (I used to live with one before she passed away from old age.) and children. I have chased cats before, but just to play. I need a fence that is at least 5 feet tall. I will sometimes try to follow when you leave.

Vol. 15, No. 16 – May 4 – May 17, 2022 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Oakley, a playful 6 year old Golden Retriever / Chow mix who is in need of a new home. My original owner passed away and then I was rescued by my current owners. I dart out open doors and windows and the elderly person in the home can’t close the door fast enough. I also nip and/or show my teeth when I’ve had enough pets and/or attention. I don’t care to be left alone and I’m afraid of loud noises and take CBD for anxiety.

I enjoy walks and playing outside. I’d do best in a quiet adult only home or a home with respectful teenagers. I get along with other dogs, but it’s unknown how I’d do with cats, although I did chase one once.

Vol. 15, No. 15 – Apr 20 – May 3, 2022 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Rascal, a handsome Shepherd X in need of a new home. I was rescued from a shelter in LA and I’m thankful to be given a second chance at finding my forever home.

I’m shy and will not come up to you right away. It will take a couple of visits to gain my trust. The CARL volunteers are working with me daily and I’ve shown progress. I walk great on leash and volunteers enjoy taking me out. I enjoy going on the walks too and playing with my ball. I’ve recently begun giving trust to have my head pet as deep down I want to be loved. I just need to be shown I don’t have to be afraid.

I’m more comfortable with females than males. I’ve had several slow introductions to males and although I start to be ok, I still have days where I take a step back and the slow introduction process needs to be somewhat started again.
The best home for me is in a quiet adult only home with someone patient and loving If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application for review.

Hi: I’m Raven, a 7-year-old beautiful Chow X who was rescued from an LA Shelter. I’m thankful to be given a chance to find my forever home. I’m fortunate to be in a foster home.

“She has good leash manners but has trouble coming to be leashed. She was shy with us for a while, I think she was not well socialized or walked. She definitely wants to be with her people. She likes your attention and is also willing to lie in the kitchen while you work.”

She has dry eyes and needs drops in each eye twice a day. She is a sweet girl and will make her new family very happy.

If you’re interested in meeting her, please fill out an online application to meet me.

Vol. 15, No. 13 – Mar 23 – Apr 5, 2022 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Jack, a 9-year-old Rat Terrier X in need of a new home as I became territorial with the two other smaller female dogs in the home.

I’m enthusiastic, affectionate and happy most of the time. I leap in the air at dinnertime and will sit until you say “okay” to eat. I will cuddle on the couch with you, nap with you and will sleep with you on the bed if you will allow it.
I might do well if you own a large cat. I live with two large cats and I don’t mess with them. Small cats or other animals may look too much like prey.

I would do best in an adult only home, but may do okay with older gentle children. I’ve been okay alone for 4 or 5 hours at a time. When I hear, “I’ll be back.” I just go to sleep until someone returns.

I’d be a great companion for my special someone. If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me.
