Lace is an absolutely gorgeous, really solid dog and we don’t know why she keeps being overlooked! She’s young, fun and playful with both dogs and people. At the shelter, she is considered a “green” dog, meaning she is able to be taken out by any volunteer and attend off-site events!

Meet 2 year old Chow Kikkoman!

Kikkoman is a fun and bouncy guy. He’s energetic, affectionate, and so fluffy. Lately Kiko has been enjoying playing with some new rough and tumble shelter dog buddies in playgroup. We are happy to help out with a meet and greet at the shelter if going home to a doggie sibling!

Though he was fearful when he first arrived at the shelter, he’s really opened up and shown us what an awesome dog he is. We don’t know how he hasn’t been scooped up yet!

Hi, I’m Teddy, a 2-year-old (I’ll be 3 in April) handsome Chow X who was rescued in bad shape from a shelter. The person who rescued me, nursed me back to health, but isn’t able to keep me. I’m not good with cats, she has five.

I’m very loving and sweet once I’m comfortable with you. I love giving my paw and holding your hand. I also love treats, toys and being outside.

The best home for me would be with a backyard and with an active family. I don’t enjoy being left alone all day. I take time to warm up to other dogs, but once I do I like to play.

Hi: I’m Nellie, an affectionate and loving 1 1/2 year old Chow that loves to play with my 3 foster siblings. I still have my sassy Chow moments, but I am eager to learn and continue to grow into the amazing dog I am today. I came to CARL as a very fearful and not socialized puppy, but my foster family took the time to gain my trust and teach me new things.

I am currently living with 3 other dogs, and we get along. I am definitely looking to be the alpha, which doesn’t always agree with other alphas in the house. I am both crate trained at night and potty trained. I love long walks and I’ve been doing good with a gentle leader, but I still have some room for improvement on my walks. Please go slow and take your time when coming up to me. Once I get to know you, I become a loving girl who wants to play with my toys, roll around being silly and chase lizards, but I also love to curl up on the couch.
