Vol. 12, No. 23 – Aug 14 – Aug 27, 2019 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Thor a 3 year old handsome Chow X who was rescued from the Riverside Shelter. I am very social but was getting stressed out at the shelter. My time was almost up and I’ll always be grateful to all who came to my aid through sponsoring my upkeep so I could come to C.A.R.L.

I was found as a stray by the shelter and was adopted from there too. But I was returned because the adopter claimed I did not get along with the other dogs. It’s unknown if it was just the adopter’s dogs or all dogs. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Joey is quite the lady’s man. Our volunteers and staff love him. He has a darling happy dance and is as cute as can be. Do you like lap dogs? Here you go! Joey is also soft which is a perfect attribute for any lap dog.

Marcia, Jan, and Cindy (A710038, A710050, and A710054) arrived at Ventura County Animal Services in May as part of a group of 59 bunnies that all came from the same home. That group included 34 baby rabbits that went immediately into the care of VCAS Bunny Brigade foster families until they would be old enough to be spayed or neutered.

Adopt program allows families to take home one or more of these baby buns as
fosters while they are still too young to be officially adopted. To meet these adorable babies and learn more about this program, please visit VCAS at 600 Aviation Drive in Camarillo and ask for ID #s A710038, A710050, and A710054. For details about adoption hours, offsite events, rabbit supplies, bunny nail trims, and compatibility dates, visit facebook.com/VCASBunnyBrigade.

Hi: I’m Floki a stunning Chow who is in need of a loving home. I was rescued from someone who was abusing me, but my rescuer is moving out of the country and I cannot go too. Thankfully C.A.R.L. is giving me a chance to find my forever home.

I’ll need time to get to know you and once I do, I’ll be very loyal to you. I like being spoken to lovingly and sweetly.

I need an adult only home with someone who has Chow experience. I enjoy playing with other dogs, but it’s unknown how I’d do with cats.

I know basic commands and walk well on leash. If you’re looking for a sweet dog and can give me a calm structured environment with consistent training, stop by and meet me. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.

Hi: I’m Tazz a 5 year old German Shorthaired Pointer / Siberian Husky X who has been described as having heart-stopping good looks and a great personality. I’m more of the star athlete than the class clown. I’m a real busy body.

I’m great in the car and love watching the road. I’m house trained, but may need a refresher as I was rescued from Animal Services. Active, that’s me! I’m great on leash and easy to walk. I’d make a great hiking, running or long walk buddy.

I need someone who has time to spend with me to keep me active and engaged. I won’t do well by myself with nothing to do.

Sound like the one for you? Stop by and meet me. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Adoptable Francois has patiently awaited his forever home since arriving at Ventura County Animal Services last November. Francois is a handsome Angora rabbit who requires daily brushing and an extra serving of good quality pellets to maintain his lengthy locks. Like many shelter rabbits, sweet Francois is a white bunny with ruby eyes. To meet Francois and learn why summer is an especially challenging time for homeless rabbits, please visit VCAS at 600 Aviation Drive in Camarillo and ask for ID #A699804. Hi: I’m Trevor quite the handsome 12-year-old Chow / German Shepherd X rescued from an LA Shelter. I’m an older dog who is a bit hard of hearing and I have arthritic back legs so I’d probably do best in a quiet adult only home or a home with respectful older children.

I’m currently in a foster home and my foster mom says I’ve been a seamless addition to their home. I co-exist with their dog Bandit. I am more interested in people than in dogs. I also like their children (9 and 12 years old) a lot. I mostly just hang out. I am very easy going and like to go on short, leisurely walks. I would make a great addition to a family looking for an easy-going dog. I have great foster home, but what I really want is a forever home. If I sound like the guy for you, stop by and meet me. Hi: I’m Adolfo a handsome and smart 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier X who was rescued from Animal Services. I know my breed gets a bad rap, but I hope you’ll stop by to meet me as you’re sure to fall in love and want to take me home.

I love playing fetch and know many commands – sit, stay, roll over to name a few. I’m playful, focused and treat motivated.

I need a home with no small dogs and possibly no cats too. Since I can jump pretty high, I may do best in a home with no small children as I may accidentally knock them over.

While at VCAS, I was able to participate in the Dog Genie’s Nose Work class and in Mutts Manners and I was doing well in both classes. I was well liked by their staff and volunteers too.

Hi: I’m Elvis a handsome Chow X rescued from an LA shelter. I’m grateful to C.A.R.L. for giving me a chance at finding my forever home.

The LA shelter thinks I should go to an adult-only home with someone experienced with my breed and as the only pet in the home.

I’m house trained and learning to walk on leash. If you visit the C.A.R.L. website, carldogs.org, you may view a video that the shelter made showing me play fetch and learning some basic commands too.

I hope it’s not long before they say “Elvis has left the building.” Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Hi, I’m Justin an Australian Shepherd / Spaniel X who is in need of a new home.

I’m a great dog, but I bond with people and can become protective of them. I need an experienced owner who can give me the structure and consistency that I need so I can relax and enjoy life. I didn’t react at all to the stray cats at C.A.R.L.’s Pet Care Center, so I might be ok with a cat.

I’ve been in playgroups at the kennel with dogs my size and I was tolerant of dogs who came up to me. I did not show any signs of aggression. I am more of an observer. I do not initiate play or join in playing. I seem to prefer women over men.

I’m ready for Easter and my new home. Could that home be yours? Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Rose lost her home when her owners had to move. Rose is a very sweet Jack Russell – Chihuahua mix. Her prior owner said she gets along great with other dogs and has a great personality. Rose would love to have a forever lap. You can meet her in kennel 907. Ventura County Animal Services – Simi location – 670 W. Los Angles Ave.

Hi: I’m Coco Puff an affectionate and playful 1 1/2 year old Chihuahua mix. I’m in need of a new home as one of the children has come down with asthma. Once an indoor dog, I was relegated to the backyard. I much prefer being indoors with my people. I love attention and don’t enjoy being left alone. I will dig under the fence and dart out open doors. I’ll need someone patient who is willing to work with me on not doing this.

I enjoy going on walks and playing ball. I’d make a great addition to an active family as I’m good with children and other dogs. It’s unknown how I’d do with cats, but they think I might chase the cat, but just to play. I’m crate and paper trained, have had formal training and know basic commands.

Stop by and meet me, I may be the fur baby you’ve been looking for. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.
