Tuesday 4-1 |
5:05am, observed NOAA issued Gale Warning, raised warning pennants. 2:00pm, observing wind gusts to 40kts, sustained at 35kts from the NW. 4:13pm, dispatched to Ocean Rescue, Standup Paddleboarder in distress near Faria park. Officers responded to the entrance, standing by due to adverse wind and sea conditions. Responders on scene determined Paddle board in no distress. |

Wednesday 4-2 |
5:28, Gale force winds continue,Northwest to 35kts, pennants still raised. 4:10pm, received report of a vessel taking on water at the Fish-offloading pier. Officers responded in the Fireboat, checked reported vessel, not taking on water. |

Thursday 4-3 |
3:55pm, received report of a disabled RC sailboat near the Marina Park city dock. Officers responded in the Fireboat, retrieved the vessel, returned to owner 6:05pm, received report of a sick/injured sea lion in the keys. Officers relayed mammal rescue contact info for CIMWI(CI marine wildlife inst), 805 567-1505. |

Friday 4-4 |
5:40am, received a report from a very concerned beach comber near Malibu about multiple “shot” sealions on the beach(es) in the area. Officers attempted to offer possible solutions such as other animals feeding on the deceased sealion, but to no avail. Advised to call 911, that it was out of our response area. 12:09pm, received request to assist sea bird rescue volunteers. Officers responded to the Santa Clara Rivermouth to assist with capture and transport. 9:48pm, received request for information on CIMWI response for a sick sealion in the keys. Advised that CIMWI is a different agency and that also they have been inundated with sealion and pelican calls as of late, urged some patience. |

Saturday 4-5 |
9:26am, received a call from the Ventura Yacht Club, they were shooting their cannon for opening day ceremonies. Thanked them for the warning. 11:10am, received a request for a jumpstart from fellow Port District employee, the dockmaster. Officers were in the area and able to successfully start vehicle. 12:27pm, received report of a hazard to navigation in the sandtrap area,floating line. Officers responded in the Fireboat, found poly line attached to a hoop net. The hazard was removed and placed in harbor patrol lost and found. 12:40pm, while on patrol in Harbor watch vessel, officers observed a rental boat operating recklessly. The operator was issued a warning for the violation. 1:33pm, officers monitoring “Hot shot” volleyball tournament at Harbor Cove. 10:55pm, received request to assist VPD with a missing/lost teenager,most likely at a bon fire on the beach.After a brief search, the daughter was found. |

Sunday 4-6 |
10:10am, observed a thick fog bank roll in, officers activated the fog signal. 3:25pm, received report of a sick/injured person in the village. Advised to call 911 so we could be dispatched, but caller hung up. Officers responded, searched reported area, but unable to locate patient.Reminder, the most efficient way to get a proper emergency response is to call 911. |

Monday 4-7 |
8:10pm, received reports of a “S-O-S” light was flashing on a vessel in VIM. Officers investigated, found owners aboard, forward lights flashing SOS. Further determined source of the “open mic” on VHF 16 came from this boat. |
