Tuesday 4/21

11:10am, observed several Hazards-to-Navigation adrift in the Pierpont Basin.  Officers aboard the Fireboat began removing multiple flotsam that came down the barranca from the recent rains.  Items were mostly trash.

11:50am, dispatched to a medical in the Ventura Marina Community, officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist with patient treatment and assessment.

Wednesday

4/22  6:30am, while conducting opening procedures, officers ensured that Harbor Cove was ready for a permitted film crew utilizing the beach for a shoot.

8:38am, observed NOAA issued a Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant

2:45pm, officers taking the Ventura Grand Jury for a boat tour of the Harbor.

8:20pm, while locking launch ramp restrooms, officers removed two transients setting up camping inside the restrooms.

8:28pm, observed a SpaceX launch from Vanderburg base while locking up.

Thursday 4/23

4:30pm, while on patrol in Rescue Boat 19, observed a Hazard-to-Navigation, a large plastic container.  Removed the hazard from the Pierpont Basin.

7:55pm, received report of an injured seabird in the Port District parking lot.  Officers found the Pelican, captured and placed into a crate for bird rescuers.

9:00pm, observed transient camping in the launch ramp restrooms.  Officers removed the individual, attempted to educate about no camping ordinance.

Friday 4/24

11:18am, dispatched to an Ocean Rescue, capsized kayaker in the sandtrap.  Officers responded in Rescue Boat 19, found the kayaker was able to self-right.  Transported the kayaker and kayak to the launch ramp.  No injuries occurred.

12:40pm, received compliment, thank you with gift for rescuing kayaker earlier today in the sandtrap.  The individual was very thankful for the rescue.

3:25pm, dispatched to a female yelling for help, possibly in a pipe near the water treatment plant.  Officers responded with multiple agencies to search for the victim.  After extensive search, responders were unable to locate the individual.

8:11pm, dispatched to male transient complaining of foot pain near the Holiday Inn Xpress.  Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist with patient treatment.

Saturday 4/25

7:33am, observed NOAA issued a Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant

9:00am, received report of a petroleum sheen in the South Basin.  Officers investigated, observed various bilge fluids.  Advised United States Coast Guard MSD Santa Barbara, they will send a representative today to investigate.

Sunday 4/26

6:30am, again NOAA issued Small Craft Advisory for winds, pennant still up.

10:00am, several new Marine Safety Officers on duty.  Patrol officers training new hires on several unique areas of Harbor Patrol responsibilities.

12:18pm, received a float plant from a individual planning on “foil-boarding” down-wind from Emma Wood to Pierpont.  Thanked the individual for the info.

Monday 4/27

9:27am, dispatched to stroke patient in the Ventura Marina Community.  Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist with patient assessment.

7:43pm, dispatched to smoke investigation at Surfers Knoll.  Officers responded with VFD to investigate report.  Unable to locate any smoke in the area.
