6:47am, observed NOAA issued Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant.
5:04pm, dispatched to sick person in the Portside complex. Officers responded
with VFD/AMR to assist with 85 y/o patient assessment.
Wednesday 5/6
1:50am, dispatched to chest pain in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers
responded with VFD/AMR to assist with patient treatment and assessment.
9:00am, received report of a petroleum sheen near VHV I-dock. Officers
responded in Rescue Boat 19 to investigate report. UTL any sheen.
5:10pm, received a complaint about commercial boat entering the harbor in
violation of speed/wake ordinance multiple times, causing damage to moored
vessels in the area. Officers advised would contact, issue warning to skipper.
Thursday 5/7
11:05am, dispatched to medical in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers
responded with AMR/VFD to assist with patient treatment and assessment.
5:45pm, received report of a 29ft Catalina sailboat that collided with a grey
whale outside the harbor earlier. Skipper advised the whale attempted to attack
the sailboat and luckily no one was hurt and no damage occurred to the boat.
9:35pm, dispatched to 94 y/o female who fell. Officers responded with VFD &
AMR to assist with patient treatment and assessment.
Friday 5/8
7:33am, observed NOAA issued Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant.
11:08am, dispatched to brush fire at Surfers Knoll. Officers arrived, found a
small warming fire, patrol officers were able to extinguish the fire.
7:52pm, dispatched to an unknown problem near the Derektor boatyard.
Officers responded with multiple agencies to assess a local transient with
behavioral problems. After assessment, patient refused any treatment or care.
Saturday 5/9
10:00am, officers taking photographs to receive awards for valor during a water
rescue, fishing vessel that went aground near Surfers Knoll last year.
5:15pm, received request to assist with a lockout on Spinnaker near the VYC.
Officers responded, unable to open vehicle with two dogs inside. Eventually
AAA arrived and was able to open the vehicle for the owner and the dogs.
8:50pm, dispatched to a fall in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers
responded with VFD/AMR to assist with a non injury fall, placed patient in bed.
Sunday 5/10
11:45am, new Marine Safety Officers conducting maintenance on patrol truck
Harb1, specifically polishing the chrome rear bumper.
12:33pm, received report of an injured sea bird at the launch ramp. Officers
responded, captured the bird for rescue volunteers to rehabilitate.
6:01pm, while on patrol in Fireboat, observed Hazard to navigation, large blue
buckets adrift in the A-basin of the harbor. Officers were able to remove them.
Monday 5/11
8:00am, Ventura Port District hosting Department of Boating and Waterways
coastal piloting class for new boating officers from around the state.
Tuesday 5/12
7:35am, dispatched to unresponsive person in the Ventura Marina Community.
Officers responded with VFD/AMR, unfortunately resuscitation unsuccessful.
