Vol. 9, No. 4 – November 25 – December 8, 2015 – Forever Homes Wanted

scamp to adopt CARLHi: I’m Curly a 13 year old Shih Tzu (just like Scamp) in need of a forever home because sadly my elderly owner can no longer care for me. I still have a spring in my step and enjoy going for walks.  I’m currently in a foster home with other dogs big and small and do okay with all, although a couple of the small dogs don’t care for me much.  I’m smitten with one of the female dogs and follow her around. I’m house trained and will go in circles to let you know I have to go out. I’d make a great companion for an older adult looking for someone to share their life with. C.A.R.L. Adoption Center, 644-PETS(7387).

scamp to adopt CARLHi: I’m Bob! I’m a five year old male Catahoula/American Staffordshire Terrier mix and I’m just a big sweetheart. I’m currently in a foster home on a ranch with other dogs, but what I really want is to find my forever home! I’m very calm and gentle with people, and I love the dog pack I run with at the ranch! I don’t jump up on you or go too crazy, but when you’re ready to play with me, I’ll be right there with you running around or chasing a ball! To learn more about me and how you can adopt me, visit www.carldogs.org. If you’re interested in getting this dog I’ve heard that some people like to get big dog bowls for them because they are bigger dogs, I’ve heard from a friend that PetWeighter has some great options to choose from so I hear.

scamp to adopt VCASDanno is a special guy who is calm, gentle and very sweet. He might be a little shy when he first meets you, but give him a few minutes and he will love to play with you. He also loves to cuddle. Danno is very easygoing and likes to just hang out, so if you need a buddy he’s available. This little man currently shares a kennel with a couple other dogs his size and they all get along nicely. Don’t worry about his eye–it’s not a problem for him at all and he can see just fine! Danno will make some lucky person a wonderful companion! Ventura County Animal Services – Camarillo location – 600 Aviation Drive

scamp to adopt VCASThis gorgeous girl is Summer, a 13 year old spayed brown tabby. Summer came in as a stray but it’s obvious she was someone’s cherished pet. Summer is healthy and friendly and gets along with other cats, too. She can be a bit aloof, but that’s only until she gets to know you. Give her a little gentle attention and her friendly demeanor with come out. scamp to adopt VCASHi. My friends at the shelter named me Lucy. I love being around people. I have such good manners that the people here at the shelter picked me to be in a wedding (yes, that’s right, I walked down the aisle in a wedding). I think they picked me because a get along with people and other dogs – big or small. I am a really good walker, but I would rather not run. My favorite thing to do is sit next to you and get petted. All I need is a warm bed to sleep in and a family or person to call my own. Is that you? Ventura County Animal Services –Camarillo location – 600 Aviation Drive – Lucy A624462

scamp to adopt CARLHi: I’m Bullet a cute 1 1/2 year old Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen X, try saying that 10 times fast. I was rescued from VC Animal Services where I was turned in as a stray by my owner. Yes, you read that correctly. My owner turned me in and said he found me as a stray. Thankfully a C.A.R.L. volunteer knew of my situation and I was able to come into C.A.R.L.’s program because another C.A.R.L. volunteer (I call her my guardian angel) was willing to sponsor me. If you have a dog already in your family, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet.

I love being around people and don’t like to be left alone. I’d do best in a home where I’ll rarely be left alone or can be taken along too when you go out.

If you’re looking for an energetic, lovable little guy, look no further, I’m the one for you!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERABreckan would like to remind everyone, “Adopt. Don’t Shop!” This handsome Silver Marten arrived at Ventura County Animal Services on Easter Day along with 12 other babies who were too young to be separated from their mother. Devoted VCAS volunteers took these babies into foster and bottle fed them morning and night until they were strong enough to eat on their own. Breckan is now neutered and ready for his forever home. This engaging bunny loves his daily salad and will do just about anything for a nibble of apple or a raisin. To meet this sweet bunny and learn how fostering saves lives, visit VCAS at 600 Aviation Drive in Camarillo and ask for ID number A618667. For information about offsite rabbit adoptions, bunny nail trims, and compatibility dates, please visit www.facebook.com/VCASBunnyBrigade.

scamp to adopt CARLHi: I’m Katie a shy 3 1/2 year old Chihuahua X who is in need of a new home. I was originally found as stray and when my owners couldn’t be found, they decided to keep me. Now they’ve decided I have to go, but I’m lucky to have a sponsor so I could come into the C.A.R.L. program.

I’m not overly active, enjoy a comfy lap to sit in and laying out in the sun. I’m good with other small dogs, but I don’t care for cats. Although I lived with children and did okay, I’m still getting used to my new surroundings and if I get afraid I try to defend myself, so for this reason I’d do best in a home without small children. I walk well on a leash so we can go on leisurely walks together. I also come when called, so hopefully you’ll be calling my name soon.

scamp to adopt CARLHi, I’m Princess a 5 year old cute smaller sized Chow with a beautiful smile. I’m shy but willing to be pet and happy about life. I used to live on a ranch in a fenced yard with Chato, but I was right outside the back door so I had more interaction with the family of the house.

I’ve participated in the playgroups they have at the kennel. I’m shy and awkward with the other dogs right now, but I’m trying to play and I’m eager to learn how.

Not ready to adopt?  I wouldn’t mind being in a foster home too!  If you love Chows, stop by and meet me! C.A.R.L. Adoption Center, 644-PETS(7387).

scamp to adopt VCASHi: I was named Floyd, even though I’m a sweet and petite female. I was afraid and confused when I was dropped off at the shelter. It’s helped that everyone here has been very nice to me, but I still get a little shy and nervous now and then. I’m at my best when I get out of my kennel and go on walks. I don’t mean to brag, but I’ve been told I’m pretty good on leash. I also enjoy it when I get to hang out with some of the other dogs here. I do best with dogs who are calm and gentle like me. What I really need is someone who will love me as much as I will love them…a family who can see beyond my shyness and wants a quiet and gentle companion. Vol. 8, No. 24 – September 2 – September 15, 2015 – Forever Homes Wanted

scamp to adopt CARLHi: I’m Oreo a 7 1/2 year old Chihuahua mix looking for a new home because my family just had too many dogs. They received a notice that most of us had to go, and so I came to C.A.R.L. with a bunch of my puppies. I enjoy going for walks. I get along with many other dogs, but I can be choosy sometimes. So let’s have a meet and greet first! I’m cautious and shy with new people. I need to go to a home with no small children because I’ll defend myself if I feel like I’m being messed with too much, but if you take the time to let me get to know you, I turn into a little teddy bear! I’ll jump in your lap, I’ll beg to be picked up, and I’m just an all-around love bug!

scamp to adopt VCASLittle Lina would like everyone to know that you can visit adoptable bunnies at one of our local pet stores. Vol. 8, No. 23 – August 19 – September 1, 2015 – Forever Homes Wanted

scamp to adopt CARLHi: I’m Leonardo a 1 year old Greyhound/Saluki X according to the shelter I was rescued from. People think I look more of a Shepherd X. Whatever breed I am I’m a lovable boy with crazy ears.

I’m a sweet boy, but I have not had much life experiences, so was quite scared when I first arrived. I’m quickly getting the hang of things and I’m very responsive. I’m good with older children as long as they are nice. I haven’t been cat tested, yet, but they suspect I will be fine. I love to play, but have a soft mouth and I give sweet kisses. I love being with the other dogs and anyone I’m bonded to.

Come on down to meet me. You’re sure to fall in love and want to make me a part of your family.
