Hi: I’m Chesper a 4 year old Chihuahua X.  My family had to move into an apartment and could not take us. Biggie may be the youngest but he is always ready to protect mom (Hachi, she just got adopted) and me (Chesper, I’m his dad) but if you come close he is so afraid he has to bark even harder. Chance has been a good boy all year long and has one wish for Santa: to hop again. This gentle boy came to Ventura County Animal Services abandoned, scared, and with a paw that had been so badly injured that it healed backwards. C.A.R.L. was astounded at how friendly and loving I am. All I want to do is be with someone who cares. I am not sure I am ready to be left alone at home. I was so happy living full time with my owner and now I have my new friends at C.A.R.L. with me all the time. I might want to live in a home where someone is home almost all the time. I am not sure about living with other dogs, hope to work on making friends while I am at C.A.R.L.

My owner did lots of work at C.A.R.L. as a volunteer. He said I saved him, he saved me and C.A.R.L. gave both of us a chance. Now he has gone to live with family and I could not go. We said good bye and I am ready to find someone else to call family.

Hi. My friends at the shelter named me Lucy. I love being around people. Hi: I’m Bullet a cute 1 1/2 year old Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen X, try saying that 10 times fast. I was rescued from VC Animal Services where I was turned in as a stray by my owner. Yes, you read that correctly. My owner turned me in and said he found me as a stray. Thankfully a C.A.R.L. volunteer knew of my situation and I was able to come into C.A.R.L.’s program because another C.A.R.L. volunteer (I call her my guardian angel) was willing to sponsor me. If you have a dog already in your family, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet.

I love being around people and don’t like to be left alone. I’d do best in a home where I’ll rarely be left alone or can be taken along too when you go out.
