Adoptable Meadow is one of 59 bunnies who came to Ventura County Animal Services from the same household. VCAS officers, staff, and Bunny Brigade volunteers sprang into action when the owners sought help, setting up cages for the adult rabbits and finding foster homes for over 30 babies. The adult rabbits like Meadow are now spayed or neutered and available for adoption. facebook.com/VCASBunnyBrigade. Hi: I’m Adolfo a handsome and smart 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier X who was rescued from Animal Services. I know my breed gets a bad rap, but I hope you’ll stop by to meet me as you’re sure to fall in love and want to take me home.

I love playing fetch and know many commands – sit, stay, roll over to name a few. I’m playful, focused and treat motivated.

I need a home with no small dogs and possibly no cats too. Since I can jump pretty high, I may do best in a home with no small children as I may accidentally knock them over.

While at VCAS, I was able to participate in the Dog Genie’s Nose Work class and in Mutts Manners and I was doing well in both classes. I was well liked by their staff and volunteers too.

Hi: I’m Elvis a handsome Chow X rescued from an LA shelter. I’m grateful to C.A.R.L. for giving me a chance at finding my forever home.

The LA shelter thinks I should go to an adult-only home with someone experienced with my breed and as the only pet in the home.

I’m house trained and learning to walk on leash. If you visit the C.A.R.L. website, carldogs.org, you may view a video that the shelter made showing me play fetch and learning some basic commands too.

I hope it’s not long before they say “Elvis has left the building.” Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Hi, I’m Justin an Australian Shepherd / Spaniel X who is in need of a new home.

I’m a great dog, but I bond with people and can become protective of them. I need an experienced owner who can give me the structure and consistency that I need so I can relax and enjoy life. I didn’t react at all to the stray cats at C.A.R.L.’s Pet Care Center, so I might be ok with a cat.

I’ve been in playgroups at the kennel with dogs my size and I was tolerant of dogs who came up to me. I did not show any signs of aggression. I am more of an observer. I do not initiate play or join in playing. I seem to prefer women over men.

I’m ready for Easter and my new home. Could that home be yours? Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Rose lost her home when her owners had to move. Rose is a very sweet Jack Russell – Chihuahua mix. Her prior owner said she gets along great with other dogs and has a great personality. Rose would love to have a forever lap. You can meet her in kennel 907. Ventura County Animal Services – Simi location – 670 W. Los Angles Ave.

Hi: I’m Coco Puff an affectionate and playful 1 1/2 year old Chihuahua mix. I’m in need of a new home as one of the children has come down with asthma. Once an indoor dog, I was relegated to the backyard. I much prefer being indoors with my people. I love attention and don’t enjoy being left alone. I will dig under the fence and dart out open doors. I’ll need someone patient who is willing to work with me on not doing this.

I enjoy going on walks and playing ball. I’d make a great addition to an active family as I’m good with children and other dogs. It’s unknown how I’d do with cats, but they think I might chase the cat, but just to play. I’m crate and paper trained, have had formal training and know basic commands.

Stop by and meet me, I may be the fur baby you’ve been looking for. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

This little guy, Argo has been in our shelter for 100+ days. Why, you ask? Because he convinced our staff and adopters that he hates everyone! He even bit the one lady who tried to adopt him while she was putting a sweater on him. (Naughty Argo!)

That being said, one of our Behavior Team members took him home and gave him a soft bed. One week later and he is a total love! She found out that he is house trained, quiet, will sleep in a crate, likes to hike, gets along with all the dogs he has met, ok with cat, jumps into the car on his own, looooves belly rubs and affection. But you must wait to earn his trust.

It’s a bird. It’s a plane.  No, it’s me, super Max an outgoing Cattle Dog mix in need of a new home. My parents need to take care of an elderly family member who needs daily care. I wish I could stay and they do too, but unfortunately I cannot.
I’m good with other dogs, so if you have a fur baby in the home already, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet. I’m also good with cats.  Although I’m good with children, I bond quickly with one person and become protective, therefore I need to go to an adult only home with dog experience and with someone who is willing to continue my training. I love being around my people and want to be a part of what is going on. I’m house and crate trained and will whine and climb up on you if I have to go out. I’m used to having someone home periodically during the day. I just want to be loved and to give love. Please stop by and meet me, I’ll be waiting. Hi, I’m Cole 2 a cute 4 year old Chihuahua X who was rescued from Animal Services. I’m grateful to be given a chance to find my forever home.

I was in a foster home with 2 other small dogs. I respond best to a calm structured environment. I am a bit fearful and anxious, once I get to know you I am a fun and sweet dog but I do take awhile to get used to new people and dogs. It should be on my terms, at my own pace. My foster mom has been taking me to training and I’m walking well on leash. I am beginning to be comfortable with one of my foster siblings, but needed to be separated for 3 weeks. On walks when encountering bigger dogs I do show some anxiety and will bark and pull, but my foster mom is working with me on not doing that.

I would do best in a quiet home where someone is home most of the time. At this time it is not recommended that I go to a home with children. I love to be with the person I trust. I am house and crate trained. I’m a smart dog who thrives with learning new skills. While I love attention from the person that I trust, I am not a lap dog.

If you’re a patient, loving person who is willing to continue with my training, please call to make an appointment to meet me. I can’t wait to start a new chapter in my life making wonderful memories with my special someone. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Sunshine is the best of both worlds. Ready for a good adventure, but also down for a good cuddle if that’s more your thing. She’s done great with other dogs, big and small. She spent some time with one of our big pit bull dogs and did great with him. She’s cool and confident. She walks well on a leash and is a volunteer and staff favorite. Oh, and she pees doing a headstand which is hilarious to watch. Ventura County Animal Services – Simi location – 670 W. Los Angeles Ave Sunshine A703849

Look at this handsome face and those adorable ears! Pony Boy is a fun, young dog who was brought to the shelter by a Good Samaritan who found him roaming in the streets.

The person who found him reported that Pony Boy got along well with her older large dog and her younger small dog. He also did great with the small child (3-years old) in the house, as well as with an elderly family member. He is very friendly and loves getting petted and snuggled.

Hi: I’m Honey a playful 8 years young Labrador X in need of a new home as my owner passed away and the sibling who took me in is moving out-of-state and I am not able to go too. I’m an active dog who loves to play and go on walks. I’m good with children and cats (I may chase them, but I just want to play). I’m choosy with other dogs, so I’d do best as the only dog in the home. I’ve had formal training and know some basics – come, sit, stay and I walk well on a leash. If you have room in your heart and home for me, please stop by to meet me. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.
