Vol. 14, No. 17 – May 19 – June 1, 2021 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Sam, a handsome 6-year-old Boxer who was rescued from a shelter in Wasco where I was taken by my owner. I’m grateful C.A.R.L. is giving me a chance to find my forever home.

The shelter said I was timid with strangers, but since I’ve been at C.A.R.L. I haven’t shown any signs of being timid. I did great with the Navy volunteers and went right up to everyone without any issues.

I was great with the other dogs at the shelter. If you have a fur baby in the home, you will need to bring him/her along so we can have a meet and greet. It is unknown how I would do with children or cats.

I am good on leash, but I do pull a little at the beginning because I’m so excited to get out but once I’m on route I do good. I have a goofy personality and I love to sniff around the arena.

If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application.

Buck is a 6-year-old German Shepherd mix who loves playing with squeaky toys and tennis balls and going for walks.

He rides well in the car, can walk around other dogs without issues, and has lived successfully with chickens! Buck does well with kiddos, but needs to go to a home with older children (younger ones try to climb on him, and he doesn’t appreciate that!)

Hi: I’m Dextyr, an 8-year-old Irish Terrier mix who is looking for a new home. I am having a hard time adapting to a baby in the house. I love to watch you cook, cuddle, and play with you. I’m very loyal and loving. I get nervous in new situations and babies/kids scare me. I am house and crate trained. I need to be the only pet as I don’t care for cats or other dogs. Not shown in the picture is my awesome mohawk.

Leche is still looking for a medical foster while he’s on the mend from his leg surgery. He doesn’t require much, just a leashed walk for potty breaks and back to resting. Leche is on strict activity restrictions to allow his leg to heal properly. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by other dogs, so if you have another pup in the home they will need to not play and run around. If you are interested in giving this guy the r&r he needs to get healthier fill out an application on our website. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. Dallas recently spent time as an office dog. She was happy to greet everyone who came in and out and take treats from them, but she really just wanted to snuggle. She walks pretty well on a leash. If you have no other pets, and are looking for a new best friend, schedule an appoint to meet Dallas at www.vcas.us/scheduling. She will be waiting for you. Hi: I’m Halo, a handsome 2 year old Shepherd / Husky X in need of a new home. I was found as a stray with another dog by individual rescuers and happily joined them in their car.

My rescuers say I’m a good boy who is friendly, energetic and athletic. They think the best home for me would be with experienced dog owners, a six-foot secure fence, no young children (12 yo and up would be fine) and no cats. Meet and greets would have to be done if you already have a dog in the home.

If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Hi, I’m Artie, an energetic 31/2-year-old American Staffordshire / Australian Shepherd with some Rotti and Chow mix. I’m in need of a new home as I and the special needs child in the home make each other too amped up. When I get too excited, I tend to nip.

I would do best in a quiet/calm adult only home. If it gets too chaotic, I need anxiety medication. In a quiet/calm environment, I’m fine and don’t need the medication.

I need a home with no small children, no small dogs and no cats. I’m good with large dogs. I’m house/crate trained, know how to use a doggie door and I’ll even let you know when I have to go outside. I know how to sit and stay, but I need leash work.

If you think you can give me the home and environment I need to thrive, please fill out an application to meet me.

The first thing you may notice when you meet Claire is her adorable little corkscrew tail, but as you get to know her, you’ll realize that her personality is pretty fantastic as well! Claire is a little bit timid when you first meet her, but she quickly warms up and then loves to play with tennis balls and soft toys.

Claire is a smart girl and knows how to open her kennel door, so a secure backyard is a must! Claire would love to go to a home where she can get regular exercise and activity and lots of time with her people. We are sure this sweet girl will be your new best friend!

If you think Clair would be a good fit for your home, please make an appointment with one of our Adoption Counselors to get more information! www.vcas.us/scheduling. Ventura County Animal Services – Camarillo location – 600 Aviation Drive. Clair A767407

Hi, I’m Chula, beautiful 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier X in need of a loving home. I was rescued from Animal Services where I was surrendered due to my owner moving and I couldn’t go too.

Animal Services had this to say about me. Chula is a petite lowrider looking for her new best friend! her owner was devastated to have to surrender her after moving and said this about her: “Chula is protective over me. She’s in tune with me when I’m sad and she’s always there to comfort me. She’s always playful and energetic. She’s so silly and rolls around when playing.”

Chula does have some fears and insecurities, especially meeting new people and having her shoulder and legs touched. In one of her homes, she was attacked by the resident dog that resulted in significant injury to her shoulder. Although her shoulder has healed well, this may be a contributing factor to her sensitivities and behavior with other dogs.

If you have experience with insecure dogs, a quiet home and are looking for a partner to grow with, learn with, play with, train and love, please fill out an online application to meet her.

Rufio was found as a stray with repeated stab wounds. He was taken immediately to our medical department who took care of his numerous injuries. The vet staff report that he has been a great patient, is very sweet, tolerant and loves butt scratches.  Our other staff report that he is a sweet boy.

We haven’t gotten him in playgroup yet, but he has met some other dogs through the kennel door and seemed to be okay with them. If you have another dog at home, bring them along for a meet and greet.

Just look at that smile! We think it’s time for this sweet 2-year-old boy to have a home where he is loved and protected.

Vol. 14, No. 08 – Jan 13 – Jan 26, 2021 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi, I’m Scruffy, a 2-year-old Chihuahua X who was one of 16 dogs rescued from a single family home. We all were not socialized and I was in the worst shape with a broken jaw. It’s been repaired and I’m waiting for my special someone to make me a part of their family.

I’ve been in two foster homes since I’ve been with C.A.R.L. In my first foster home I lived with other dogs and made tremendous progress and I was doing really well. I’d run around the house and I’d try to get the other dogs to play with me. I’ll need a playful and easy-going brother and/or sister in the home who will not only play with me but show me the ropes too.

My second foster mom calls me Sunny. Scared and unsure of my new foster mom and new foster home, I would cower in a corner or hide in my crate. My crate is left available to me so I always have a safe place to be, but I decided rather quickly that I prefer being outside of the crate and now I don’t want to go in it. I’m fed in the crate so I feel comfortable should I need to be put in it to go to a vet appointment.

If you have the love and patience that I need as I continue to learn to trust, fill out an application to meet me. CARL CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Shogun, our short-legged German Shepherd, spent his whole life with one owner and is going through a huge change now being at the shelter alone. Here at the shelter he has hung out with other dogs without incident so he may be happy living with another mature, calm dog. Shogun enjoys going on walks and rolling around in the grass and would love a belly rub once he knows you. He has a lot of typical German Shepherd characteristics and is protective of his home so he is looking for a home without kids and someone experienced with German Shepherd or guardian-type breed characteristics.
