Officers responded and assisted the vessel to its slip at VIM-H. 2:20pm, received a request for assistance monitoring a large commercial fishing vessel attempting to enter the harbor in very rough conditions. Officers responded and escorted the vessel safely in to the harbor and to their slip. 1:48pm, dispatched to a water rescue at Surfer’s Point for swimmer in distress. Officers responded and assisted responding rescuing agencies with the call. The victim was safely transported to the beach without any injuries. 10:50am, contacting an individual who has his sailboat secured to the launch ramp for the last few days preparing to travel to Channel Islands harbor to his new slip. Harbormaster has been working with the individual to ensure safe transit due to the sailors admitted inexperience and rough sea conditions. 11:15am, officers contacting a homeless couple that have been disturbing the peace in the Harbor Village. Warnings for loitering were issued to the pair and they were moved along for the violation. 9:35pm, while on patrol, officers observed a vessel on radar outside the breakwall not utilizing navigation lights. Contact was made and the vessel was escorted to the Port District longdock for a safety inspection. Written warnings were issued to all three fishermen for fishing in an illegal area, within 250ft of the breakwall and the skipper was issued warning for improper navigation light display. 10:00am, Port District Harbor Patrol and Marine Safety officers preparing for the predicted storm and High surf over the next few days. Officers pulled all of the swim area and swim course buoys out of the Pierpont Basin and Harbor cove areas. Officers also were reading and watching weather briefings issued by the National Weather Service scientists. 3:35pm, dispatched to a fall victim in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and assisted a tenant of the park. The incident turned out to be non-emergency and the victim sustained no injuries. |

Officers responded in the Fireboat along with Ventura fire, State Parks, VC sheriff helicopter and AMR medics. When officers arrived on scene they found two kite surfers performing self-rescues and making their way to the beach downcoast of the pier.

Officers investigated and found a vessel fitting the description of the disturbing party and made contact at the launch ramp. 2:15pm, observed 4 swimmers caught in a rip current while on patrol in the fireboat. The swimmers were not in distress and were assisted out of the rip and to shore with suggestions on how to escape a rip current from the boat.

11:30pm, while on patrol near the Harbor entrance, officers observed a Personal Watercraft engaged in hoop netting. The fisherman’s voyage was terminated due to the illegal night-time operation of a PWC.

1:20pm, received a dispatch to a traffic accident at Harbor and Olivas Park Dr. Officers responded with AMR, VFD, VPD and VCFD to assist a motorcyclist who collided with a truck at the inter section and suffered a lower leg injury. The patient was treated and transported to local hospital for further evaluation.

7:43pm, received a request for a jumpstart from the owner of a disabled vehicle near Island Packers. Officers responded and successfully jumpstarted the disabled vehicle.

12:15pm, issued a warning to a male/female arguing at the Halloween Dog Costume event. The two went their separate ways and no further action taken.

10:15pm, while on patrol in Boat 17, officers observed several vessels engaged in hoop netting for lobsters outside of the breakwall. All of the vessels were issued warnings for fishing violations, too close to the breakwall.

7:08pm, received a report of a lost person at 1591 Spinnaker Drive. Officers responded and reunited the lost individuals after a brief search.

7:33am, patrol escorting the Polynesian sailing canoe Hikianalia into the harbor and to their slip at VHV C-dock where a ceremony ensued.
2:55pm, while on patrol, officers observed a diesel spill near VHV G-dock. After a brief investigation, the source of the spill was located coming from one of the commercial fishing vessels.
4:19pm, received a report of children trapped in an elevator at 1567 Spinnaker Drive. Officers responded with VFD and the children were freed unharmed.

6:00pm, while on patrol in boat 19, officers observed large waves at the entrance to the harbor. One wave was measured with the sonar at 11ft in height

4:45pm, while on patrol in the truck, officers received a report of a female transient using the boatyard restroom sink to bathe. The individual was contacted and warned about trespassing and removed from the area.

8:16am, dispatched to a fall victim at Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and assisted VFD/AMR with the patient.
7:15pm, while on patrol and enforcing hoopnetting ordinances officers contacted two fishermen fishing from a Personal WaterCraft. Federal law prohibits PWC’s from operating between sunset and sunrise. The fisherman’s voyage and fishing trip was terminated due to federal law.
10:40pm, received a request to tow a disabled 20ft motor vessel. Officers responded and took a 20ft skipjack en tow to the L/R from the sandtrap.

7:50am, received a report of a transient disrupting the peace in the Harbor Village. Officers responded and removed the disturbing party from the village.
8:08pm, while on patrol, received a report of a vessel on the rocks, outside of the breakwall. Officers responded and observed several vessels engaged in hoop netting in very rough conditions on the outside of the breakwall. The vessel was assisted and suffered no damage.

7:00am, officers observed the National Weather Service issuing warnings for Small Craft Advisory due to strong East winds. The SCA flag was raised.

11:29am, dispatched to a hazardous condition in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and found a possible gas leak from a stove. The source was discovered and secured.
1:15pm, officers gave the districts dredge consultant and the Army Corp of Engineers a ridealong to check the water depth of the Harbor entrance for maintenance dredging this winter.

1:12pm, dispatched to a water rescue, 2 swimmers in a rip current at the South jetty. Officers responded with MSO rescue swimmers on board Boat 19. The two victims were pulled from the rip current and taken to Harbor Cove.

5:45pm, patrol marine safety observed a PWC capsized at Surfers Knoll and eject 3 persons in the water. Officers responded by land and sea and assisted the 3 in the water. The PWC was towed to the L/R for the novice operator.

5:35pm, dispatched to a water rescue at the Ventura Pier for two kite surfers in distress. Officers responded and assisted VFD, State Parks and AMR with the call. After a search, the kite surfers were found safely on the beach.

5:25pm, while on patrol, officers were contacted by State Parks and advised of a missing person, 12 year old autistic male last seen at Surfers Knoll. A coordinated search and rescue effort was mutually participated in by: State Parks, Ventura PD and FD, VC Sheriff and Ventura Harbor Patrol. After a few hours of searching, the child was found near Oxnard Shores by State Parks rangers. The child walked approximately 4 miles past 5th street on the beach.

5:17pm, received a dispatch to a medical alert at Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and found an 87 year old male complaining of difficulty breathing. He was transported to local hospital for further evaluation.

6:00am, observed several small vessels heading out or already at the breakwater for 2018/19 lobster season opening day.
7:40pm, officers on patrol and contacting several different vessels for various violations in connection with hoop netting for lobster around the breakwall. 20 different vessels were engaged in hoop netting and diving for lobster.

6:23pm, received a complaint that an individual was harassing a large sea lion on the docks in a private marina. The incident is under investigation.

12:07pm, received a report of an injured sea bird at the launch ramp. Officers responded and assisted wildlife rescue with capturing for rehabilitation.
5:35pm, while on patrol in the vehicle, officers monitoring swimmers and surfers at South Beach due to the hazardous conditions from hurricane Rosa.

9:40am, received dispatch to a medical in the RiverHaven encampment. Officers responded and assisted a patient complaining of a hemorrhaging.
1:21pm, received a report of a vessel in distress near the Greenock Lane jetty from State Parks. Officers responded in the Fireboat that was conducting a sea-trial nearby. The inflatable was taken en tow from a lifeguard who swam the disabled vessel out of the surfline to the fireboat.
5:50pm, officers responded and assisted a patient in the mobile home park.
7:02pm, dispatched to a medical trauma at the VYC. The patient was hit in the head with a boom from the mast of their boat. They were transported to local hospital by AMR for further evaluation.

9:00am, received a report of an injured night-herring. Officers retrieved the bird for volunteer rescue to pick up and take to rehabilitation.
6:20pm, dispatched to a water rescue at the Ventura Pier, kite surfer in distress. Officers responded in Boat 19 to assist State Parks with the call. The kite surfer was safely escorted to the shore.

3:00pm, received a dispatch to a medical in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded with VFD/VPD to the call, the patient refused assistance.
8:53pm, dispatched with multiple agencies to a water rescue near Seaward. After a brief investigation all victims were found safe on the beach.

11:45am, U.S. coast guard investigating the fishing vessel Ocean Angel II for listing heavily to the bow. Officers advised that the vessel has approximately 1000 gallons of diesel in the forward bilge. The owners were working on ways to mitigate the situation. Crew members removed the fuel.
5:36pm, dispatched to a traumatic medical at VWM C-dock. Officers responded with Goldcoast medics/VFD and assisted a 66 year old male who fainted and sustained major head trauma. He was placed on a backboard/C-spined and transported to local hospital for further treatment.
7:41pm, received a dispatch to assault victims at 1500 Anchors Way Dr. Officers responded with AMR, VPD was already on scene investigating. Three victims were assessed, on sustained major head trauma and was placed on C-spine board and transported to local hospital. One was released with minor injuries and one was arrested for disruptive/resistive actions.

3:34pm, received report of a capsized catamaran off McGrath State Beach. Officers responded, righted the vessel, towed it back to the launch ramp.
3:37pm, received a report of a capsized kayak near the South Jetty in the surfline. Officers responded in the Fireboat, pulled the person from the water and towed the kayak to Harbor Cove beach. No injuries were sustained.
5:10pm, dispatched to a traffic accident at 1363 Spinnaker Dr. Officers responded and found a vehicle had veered off the road into the parking lot colliding with a parked vehicle, 3 medians. No one was injured in the crash.

7-27 11:50am, received a request to assist Ventura PD with two individuals fighting in the entry feature at Spinnaker/Harbor. Officers responded and found the two fighting because one large transient asked the man in his vehicle for money and he told him to get a job, the transient punched him in his face and the fight continued into the street. The transient was arrested for assault.
7-28 10:40am, received a request for traffic control for TowBoat U.S. They are towing a large sailboat out of the harbor. Officers responded and blocked traffic for the tow. The vessel was safely towed out of the harbor.
7-29 11:25am, while on patrol, officers contacted a small vessel with 8 persons onboard and no lifejackets on the boat. The vessels voyage was terminated and the boat was escorted back to the Ventura Keys.
7-30 8:45am, received request to lower flags to half-mast due to the passing of local fire captain.

- 1:16pm, received a request for the beach wheel chair for a 92 year old female. Officers delivered the chair to the individual at Surfers Knoll.
3:21pm, received a report of two Personal Water Craft operating in violation of 302(b) VHO – speeding in the keys area of the Harbor. Officers responded, contacted the operators of the two vessels issuing warnings for the violation.
3:40pm, picked up a found baby bird at the fuel dock. Bird rescue was contacted and they retrieved the bird for further care and rehabilitation.
8-05 9:59am, dispatched to a fall victim at the Holiday Inn Express. Officers responded and assisted VFD/AMR with a 71 year old female experiencing extreme back pain. The patient was treated and transported to local hospital.
8-06 12:38pm, dispatched to a sick person in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded with Ventura FD and assisted an elderly male.
6:55pm, received a report of a large fuel spill in the mid area of the Harbor from a tenant in Ventura Isle Marina. Officers responded and found small patches of a light sheen. With assistance from Tow Boat US and Patriot services who were in the area with another operation, officers were able to retrieve some of the sheen with an absorbent boom.
8-07 7:10am, while on patrol in the vehicle, officers issued a written warning to a couple who have been camping on the beach near Surfers Knoll. They were encouraged to take down the tent and to not camp in the Harbor.

7-04 | Fourth of July. 8:15am, while on patrol in the fireboat, officers observed a kayaker in distress in the main channel of the harbor. The kayaker was taken aboard and the kayak towed to the launch ramp and released.
1:36pm, received a report of a disabled PWC at the harbor entrance. Officers responded and took the vessel with 2 POB’s en tow to Harbor Cove Beach. 3:12pm, received a dispatch to a medical alarm in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and assisted VFD/AMR with the call. 10:00pm, received a dispatch to a water rescue, a vessel in distress off Pierpont beach. Officers responded in the fireboat and found a 45ft vessel adrift in 15ft of water. The vessel was safely escorted back to the Harbor. |
7-05 | 3:30pm, received a report of a PWC on the beach North of the Ventura Pier and unable to re-launch it. Officers coordinated with State Parks to assist with the re-launching of the vessel and safely escorted back to the harbor.

The young patient was transported to local hospital with parents for evaluation. 7:31pm, received a dispatch to an unknown medical. Officers responded and found a 28 year old male who was intoxicated, not a medical. The individual was eventually arrested for public intoxication. |

Officers responded and assisted the individual who was recently rescued. 3:10pm, received a report of a fuel spill near VWM C-dock. Officers responded and searched the area but were unable to locate a source. 9:15pm, received a dispatch to a 61 year old male complaining of chest pain in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and assisted VFD/AMR with the patient who was transported to local hospital for further evaluation. |

6-14 | 2:15pm, contacted by an individual reporting his vehicle is stuck in the sand in the secured lot at the end of Spinnaker Drive. Officers responded and towed the vehicle out of the sand and issued warning for driving off designated road. |
6-17 3:03pm, officers received a report of a missing person at Harbor Village near the Carousel. After a brief search the child was reunited with the parents.
11:05pm, received a report of a female screaming on the beach at Harbor Cove from VWM security. Officers responded and found a young couple was horsing around on the beach. They were issued a warning for beach curfew.
6-19 9:50pm, while on patrol, officers observed an individual slumped over a steering wheel parked caddy-whompus. Contact was made and the individual was just waiting for her boyfriend to let her into VWM parking lot.
6-21 2:55pm, received dispatch to a water rescue, kite surfer in distress. Officers responded and assisted VFD, State Parks with the victim. No injuries were sustained and harbor patrol transported all of the gear to the harbor.
6-23 1:00pm, while on patrol officers observed SUP paddlers beset by the strong south winds (25kts). They were taken aboard the vessel back to the rental dock in the South Basin of the Harbor.
6-24 10:20am, received a request for safe harbor from a transient sailboat heading South to Marina Del Ray. The vessel was granted an emergency mooring at the launch ramp due to the weather/Small craft advisory.
10:07pm, received a dispatch to an assault victim on the promenade near Marina park. Officers responded and were unable to assist due to the location.

6-2 | 2:14am, received a report of a vessel sinking in Ventura Harbor Village, E-dock. Officers responded and found a large commercial fishing vessel sunk in its slip. U.S. coast guard, Channel Watch Marine (TowBoat US), NRC, CA Fish and Wildlife, OST crane, Patriot environmental, Ventura PD/Fire and Ventura Harbor Patrol were summoned to mitigate the sunken vessel. Several containment booms were secured around the 60ft vessel.
9:01am, received a report of a boating accident at Dave’s Fuel Dock. Officers responded and discovered damage to the fuel dock and that the vessel had left the area. After a brief investigation, the vessel was located and advised of the damage to the dock. The owner went to the fuel dock to exchange information. |

Officers responded and contacted the individual. He was asked to leave the park because he was trespassing on private property. 4:15pm, received a report of a fall victim in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and assisted VFD/AMR with the call. 11:20am, while on patrol and investigating a disturbing dog call, officers observed dangerous rip currents and ocean conditions. Several families with small children were contacted and moved to shallow water. 9:20am, officers are conducting traffic control and safety for the Hokuloa canoe club outrigger race. 11:00am, officers assisting Ventura Port District marketing with the Pirates Day event at the Ventura Harbor Village. 3:52pm, received a dispatch to a drowning at Harbor Cove. Officers responded by vehicle and boat to the call with State Parks Lifeguards. All victims were rescued, treated/assessed and released at the scene. 10:30pm, received a request for a transient slip from a partially disabled 47ft motor sailor. The vessel was escorted into the harbor to a slip in VHV C-dock. |
