Vol. 16, No. 22 – July 26 – Aug 8, 2023 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Raddish, a handsome 4 year old Siberian Husky who was rescued from an OC Shelter where I was found as a stray. A group of people have stepped up to sponsor me so I can be a part of the CARL program and find my forever home.

I love to play in water, walk well on leash, not dog aggressive and enjoy using my voice to let you know how excited I am. The CARL volunteers say I’m a sweetheart and well tempered..

If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application.

Hi: I’m Luna, a sweet 11/2-year-old Maltipoo in need of a new home as unfortunately one of the people in the home is highly allergic to me.

I’m gentle and affectionate and enjoy attention. I’m good with other dogs and children, but I would do best in an adult only home or a home with older children. I know basic commands and I’m house and crate trained. I enjoy going for walks, playing with a ball and cuddling.

If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application.

Hi: I’m Connor, a sweet 1 1/2 year old Dachshund X in need of a new home. I’ve been isolated inside a house for most of my life. I get very nervous sometimes and will shake. I’ll need someone who can help me build up my confidence.

I’m good with small dogs, but I’m not quite sure what to do around larger breeds.

I’m amazing with children and would love a human sister or brother. I love all people that I meet.

I’m thankful to my sponsor which enabled me to come into CARL’s program. Hopefully it’s not long before I’m in my forever home. Please fill out an online application to meet me. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.

Hi: I’m Zozo, a 7- month -old Terrier X rescued from a shelter when my time was up.

The shelter said I was fearful, but who wouldn’t be not knowing which day might be your last. I know the volunteers and kennel staff will help me acclimate to my new surroundings and help me feel safe and loved.

Since I’m just a puppy, children in the home must be at least 6 years of age. Please be sure you’re ready to take on a puppy as it’s similar to having a newborn in the home.

If you’re ready and able to give me a lifetime of love and wonderful memories, please fill out an application to meet me. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. https://carldogs.org/

Hi: I’m Peanut, a sweet 2 month old Spaniel X pup rescued from a shelter when my time was almost up. In spite of a less-than-ideal start in life, I’m grateful to be in a fantastic foster home with a foster mom who has lots of experience with puppies! My foster mom is giving me lots of love, attention and the best of care.

Since I’m just a puppy, children in the home must be at least 6 years of age. I know I’m cute and everyone will want me, but please be sure you’re ready to take on a puppy as it’s similar to having a newborn in the home. It’s a lifetime commitment, not a temporary one where the love and attention wears off after I’m grown.

Vol. 16, No. 15 – Apr 19 – May 2, 2023 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Ruby, a sweet loving gentle soul that loves to be loved. My life has not always been easy but I’ve never given up and continue to fight hard to find my place in this world. My foster dad says the time he has spent with me has been a pleasure and ever so rewarding. As I’m a little older in age, I am at the point in my life that I enjoy the big comfy couch as much as my morning walks.

Connecting with me took my foster parents only moments really and I am now eager to be at one’s side. Just the other evening my foster dad watched me spend an hour self entertaining searching and sniffing for the ever elusive groundhog that lives under my foster dad’s shed
I will make a wonderful new addition to your family for years to come. If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me.

Vol. 16, No. 14 – Apr 5 – Apr 18, 2023 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: We’re Izzy and Ninja, adorable 8 months old Chows in need of a new home as a neighbor complained about barking, but we were just barking at their dogs who were growling at the fence. We’re just grateful CARL was able to accept us into their program and we’re lucky to be in a foster home.

We’re active, good with other dogs and older children. We bark when we need to go outside. Nina may need extra high fencing as she can climb out of an exercise pen and climb over a play gate.

Since we’re still puppies, children in the home must be at least 6 years of age. We know we’re cute and everyone will want us, but please be sure you’re ready to take on a puppy as it’s similar to having a newborn (2-legged kind) in the home.

If you’re ready and able to give us a lifetime of love and wonderful memories, please fill out an application to meet us.

Hi: My name is Daisy! I am a beautiful lab/pitbull mix and I am estimated to be about 10 years old. My previous owner was a disabled vet who passed away with me by his side, and unfortunately, I am struggling at my new home due to vast differences in lifestyles. Since I was a service dog, I would work best with someone I can be with 24/7 (homebound, handicapped, etc.) I do have separation anxiety when I am home alone, but I am very sweet and well mannered when I am with company. I am great to join you in car rides, on walks, or just laying by your side.

Zander (male), Trinity (female) and Leia (female) are all still searching for their forever homes! These three are the last of the Terrier mix litter that we saved from Kern County thanks to the generous donations we received from our rescue community. They are 10 weeks old and we think they’ll end up being medium sized dogs. All three enjoy being in a puppy pile, chasing around their foster siblings, and exuding maximum cuteness with zero effort. Meet Joey & Shiela, two playful Husky Shepherd mixes looking for forever homes. Joey & Shiela are about 2-3 years old and came in together as strays. They both have done well in pack playgroups with dogs of varying energy levels, but especially love attention from humans! They’re great with commands like sit and down. Joey & Shiela are just as happy individually and do not necessarily need to be adopted together!

If you’d like to meet Joey or Shiela, schedule an appointment at https://www.vcas.us/adopt or come down to the shelter during normal Adoption Hours of 1:00pm – 6:00pm Tuesday – Sunday. Hi: I’m Zander, a snuggly, happy, playful 2 month old pup rescued from a shelter when my time was almost up. The shelter had me listed as tri-color for breed, but CARL thinks I might be Terrier X. When I grow up I may be small to medium sized (15 – 40 lbs).

In spite of a less-than-ideal start in life, I’m grateful to be in a fantastic foster home with a foster mom who has lots of experience with puppies! My foster mom is giving me lots of love, attention and the best of care. I can’t wait to be a cherished member of a loving family.

Since I’m just a puppy, children in the home must be at least 6 years of age. It’s a lifetime commitment, not a temporary one where the love and attention wears off after I’m grown.

Glitter is a playful 3 year old lab mix (A807539) who arrived in September, 2022 after being struck by a car. She has since fully recovered from hip surgery! While recovering, Glitter lived with two other dogs in foster care and plays well with dogs of a similar size – just not too rowdy for the sake of her hip! She even knows sit, down, and paw.

Due to her injury she’s one our longer stays. She’s a real catch and we know she’d make an awesome addition to any family!

Boomer is an affectionate 6-year-old pittie! Boomer loves leaning into humans for pets, curling up in small cozy spaces, and toys! As a pup, he never learned how to live with other cats or dogs, so would be best as the only animal in the home. Boomer loves people though and even knows “sit!” VCAS Boomer (A804722)
