Vol. 11, No. 7 – Jan 3 – Jan 16, 2018 – Forever Homes Wanted

Jasmine was originally adopted from VCAS in 2010 but has come back to us as a stray. Previous notes on her indicate that she is a sweetheart of a lap dog that wiggles and gives kisses. She previously lived with other dogs and kids. We don’t know how she ended up abandoned, but this girl is in dire need of a foster or adopter to provide her comfort for the time she has left. Jasmine has cancer and deserves to spend her golden time in a soft loving home. Contact our foster coordinator if you are interested in providing hospice care for her! Hi: I’m Bentley an affectionate 8 year old American Staffordshire Terrier / Labrador mix. I’m in need of a new home because my owner travels too much and doesn’t have time for me. I enjoy hiking on cool days or just lying in your lap. I’m friendly with people, but choosy with other dogs.

My C.A.R.L. pal Marion takes me for overnight stays at her house sometimes. She said I’m an easy dog, just provide me with a soft bed, a couple of meals a day, a nice walk and some play time and I’ll give you lots of love and enjoyment in return. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Hi: I’m Zero an affectionate and playful 6 year old Border Collie mix who is in need of a new home. I was originally adopted from a shelter in LA, but the people who adopted me could no longer keep me. The person who has me now did not want to see me go back to the shelter, so she took me in. She unfortunately cannot keep me as I do not enjoy being left alone. I’m a great dog who learns quickly, gets along with other dogs, enjoys walks and being with my people. I hope it’s not long before I’m a cherished member of a loving family. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Adoptable Taffy and Amber would like to spread the word that bunnies are happiest and healthiest in pairs. Bunnies thrive when they have companions, and bonded pairs take up no more room in the house than single bunnies. VCAS Bunny Brigade adoption counselors can also facilitate bunny dates for adopters who are looking for a companion for their spayed or neutered single bunnies. To meet Taffy and Amber and witness the playful antics of a bonded pair, please visit VCAS at 600 Aviation Drive in Camarillo and ask for ID #s A674425 and A674426.

Hi: I’m Lady a 10 year old yellow lab mix and I’m just about the perfect size. Big enough to not get lost under your feet while walking but small enough to be a lap dog. I love people and playing with toys. I’m good with other dogs as well. I guarantee I’ll bring you holiday cheer! I’m available for foster or adoption! Hi: I’m Bunny a 5 year old Dachshund/Shih Tzu X in need of a new home. I came from a situation of too many dogs in the home. I’m good with other dogs, but I’m under-socialized to people. Hi: I’m Smokey an adorable young little Fox Terrier mix. I have a wire hair coat and will be easy to keep groomed. I am perfect size for laps. Do you have an empty lap for him? Hi: I’m Miss Brandi and about as sweet as they come. A super mellow senior Staffie mix who absolutely loves attention. Being back in the shelter after being away for so long has left me feeling a bit blue, but maybe you can change that? I love walking and pays no attention to other dogs while out and about. When she’s not on her walks, she calmly hangs out in her igloo resting. While my demeanor is on the calmer side, I really open up to people! Hi: After being adopted by a wonderful family at the beginning of summer, Athena was returned to Ventura County Animal Services this month after her family faced a health crisis that will prevent them from caring for her the way she deserves. Athena loved to jump in the lap of the daughter and would fall asleep as her belly was being rubbed. Athena is an ideal house rabbit and deserves a new, permanent home. VCAS at 600 Aviation Drive in Camarillo and ask for ID #A643427.

Hi: I’m Boo Boo a handsome 3 year old Chow rescued from Animal Services. I’m grateful to be given a second chance at finding my forever home. I was good with the family I lived with and good with other dogs, but I didn’t enjoy being brushed or bathed. I hope I don’t have to wait too long before my special someone comes to take me home. Vol. 10, No. 26 – Sept 27 – Oct 10, 2017 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Rory a 4 year old Miniature Poodle / Chihuahua X who was rescued from Animal Services where I was relinquished by my owner when my owner lost his home. I lived with an adult male and four Chihuahuas. I don’t like loud noises and my typical response is to bare my teeth to unfamiliar people/dogs, when things are taken away from me and when I’m approached by another dog in the home while eating. I’d probably do best in a quiet adult/senior only home. My game of choice is fetch and playing with chew sticks. Soon after arriving at Ventura County Animal Services as a stray bunny, Jackie O appeared to suffer from pain in her rear legs that was evident when she tried to hop. It turned out that she suffered from severe luxating patellas in both knees. Fortunately, Jackie O was able to receive life-changing double-knee surgery that will enable her to use her legs again once she recovers and receives the proper physical therapy. This sweet girl now has a chance at a wonderful life in a loving, permanent home. To learn more about Jackie’s story and donate to the cost of her surgery, please visit tiny.cc/vcasjackieo. Interested adopters can visit vcas.us and search for ID #A665895. For details about adoption hours, offsite events, bunny nail trims, and compatibility dates, visit facebook.com/VCASBunnyBrigade.

Hi, I’m Sienna a playful, energetic and friendly 5 year old American Staffordshire Terrier X. I was rescued from Animal Services by Canine Adoption and Rescue League (I’m a lucky dog). I sure am grateful they are giving me a second chance for a loving home.

I know the command ‘sit’ and The Dog Genie (Genie Tuttle) has been doing Nose Work with me too. I’m working on my leash manners. I’m people friendly, but I’d prefer to be the only dog in your home.

I hope you’ll stop by to meet me and give me a chance to show you what a wonderful girl I am.

This is “Poncho”…He is a stunningly beautiful and striking looking, German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd Mix, who lost the only home he ever knew and he ended up at the shelter, sad and confused. Over time, Poncho has blossomed and his charming personality and good looks stole people’s hearts. Poncho has moderate energy, loves to be with people and fussed over. He loves to be brushed and is happy to just “hang out” with you or have a fun game of fetch. He is well mannered, easy to handle and a joy to be around. If you are looking for a fabulous dog, with gorgeous blue eyes, look no further. Ventura County Animal Services – Simi location – 670 W. Los Angeles Ave. Poncho A664651

Hi: I’m Troy an 8 year old Miniature Poodle according to VC Animal Services where I was rescued from. I’m currently in a foster home with other dogs and cats too. It takes a little bit of time for me to warm up to new people and I’m a bit unsure around children therefore I’d do best in an adult only home. I’m not completely house broken, but I will stand by the door to let you know I need to go outside and I’m sooooo cute . I hope my special someone comes for me soon.
