Wednesday 2/19
5:47am, observed NOAA issued a Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant.
7:14pm, dispatched to medical in Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded with AMR/SQUAD 2 to assist with assessment/treatment.
Thursday 2/20
5:15am, Small Craft Advisory still in effect, warning pennant still raised.
7:40am, dispatched to medical in Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist with treatment and assessment.
11:00am, officers meeting with Manson construction for upcoming dredging operations to remove sand from entrance and sandtrap areas of the harbor.
11:50am, observed an apparent abandoned dinghy at the launch ramp while on patrol. Officers dewatered, then removed the vessel from the launch ramp.
2:40pm, observed a disabled rental electric boat near the patrol dock. Officers responded in vessel Harborwatch 5 and towed the vessel to the rental dock.
Friday 2/21
6:28am, observed Small Craft still in effect for East winds, pennant still up.
1:33pm, officers observing the new docks being installed at the Launch Ramp. Also inspecting the new washdown at the launch ramp.
1:45pm, officers working with maintenance personnel to formulate a plan for major repair of port engine of Rescue Boat 19. Ordering parts for repair.
2:50pm, received request to dispose of expired marine flares. VPD bomb squad will no longer accept them and advised that the only known agency accepting expired flares was the US Coast Guard during their Safe Boating Day at Channel Islands Harbor. The inquirer upset that the Coast Guard station was so far away.
Saturday 2/22
4:46am, dispatched to medical assist in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist with treatment and assessment.
8:35am, received a request to tow a 30ft sailboat disabled in the main channel of the harbor. Officers responded in Fireboat 1, took the vessel in side-tie, waited for Tow Boat US to arrive and take over the tow.
12:40pm, received report of a kayaker fishing in very close proximity to vessels in VWM B-dock. Officers responded, observed violation, contacted individual.
8:00pm, received report of a trailer bearing out at the launch ramp. Officers responded in truck and were able to assist getting the trailer out and in the lot.
Sunday 2/23
6:50am, while performing morning duties (opening beach lot gates), observed a large car club blocking Spinnaker all around Harbor Cove. Officers let the vehicles into the lot, attempted to find organizer, but too many people to locate.
1:41pm, dispatched to an Ocean Rescue near McGrath State Beach. Officers responded in Fireboat and Rescue watercraft to assist two personal watercraft that were beset by large waves and one operator injured and PWC aground. The injured operator refused medical assistance, Tow Boat US handled the salvage.
Monday 2/24
1:03pm, officers working with maintenance on progress of port engine repair for Rescue Boat 19. The mechanic will be up in a few days with parts for repair.
Tuesday 2/25
1:08am, dispatched to a fall patient in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and were able to perform a lift assist, no medical component.
