5:24am, “Flavit Jehovah…” the wind storms continue, raised warning pennant. 9:40am, meeting with USCG Air Division to set up hoist training in the future. 11:03am, meeting with State Parks lifeguard chief to plan lg training. 2:20am, dispatched to Ventura Marina Community for a fall patient. |

Wednesday 3/12 |
6:06am, observed Gale in effect, raising warning pennants, illuminating lights. 9:19am, received report of a sick pelican near office, officers assisted rescuers. 2:55pm, dispatched to fall patient in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded with AMR and VFD SQ2 to assist with patient treatment. |

Thursday 3/13 |
5:57am, again Gale Warning in effect, pennants still raised, lights lluminated. 5:35pm, observing West winds howling to 35kts at patrol office anemometer. 7:15pm, dispatched to a vessel in distress near the harbor entrance, unable to return to port. Officers responded in Fireboat and after a brief investigation, it was determined that the reporting party was observing the #2 navigation buoy. |

Friday 3/14 |
6:03am, observed Small Craft issued by NOAA, raised warning pennant. 8:50am, received report of ill pelican in the village. Officers responded, found the bird barely alive showing signs of demoic acid poisoning. Unfortunately the bird passed away during transport to the Port District for rescue volunteers. 9:51am, dispatched to a medical in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and assisted AMR/VFD with patient treatment. 12:50pm, received request to assist bird rescue volunteer with ride to the Santa Clara Rivermouth to search for ill pelican. Officers assisted but unfortunately only perished pelicans were found in the area, most likely from demoic acid. |

Saturday 3/15 |
12:01am, today is the Anniversary of Harbor Patrol Officer Paul KORBER, who died in the line of duty during an Ocean Rescue of a mother and two children in the South Jetty rip current twenty-seven years ago. Rest in Peace Paul. 6:33am, again, the windstorm continues, SCA warning pennant still up. 8:21am, dispatched to sick person in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist with patient treatment/assessment. 9:45am, officers troubleshooting me chanical issue(s) with Harborwatch vessel. The boat has been Out-Of-Service for a week and they are hoping to figure it out 1:27pm, dispatched to report of a large oil spill near Surfers Knoll on the beach. Officers responded, contacted he reporting party, confirming that the spoil coming from the maintenance dredging pipe was mistaken for oil. Educating individual about anaerobic sand and that it looks like but is certainly not oil. |

Sunday 3/16 |
6:47am, observed wind storm is over, lowering warning pennant, raising colors. 10:50am, received complaint that operators of PWC’s near the H.R. Morris dredge were dangerously operating near it. Officers responded in FB1 to contact 11:23pm, received report of group disturbing, playing guitar at the firepit in the village from security. Officers were on patrol in the area and made contact. |
