The City of Port Hueneme and the Ventura County Library invite the community to attend the Grand Reopening and Mural Unveiling at the Ray D. Prueter Library in Port Hueneme on Saturday, May 3, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. 510 Park Avenue,Port Hueneme.
This open house event is an opportunity for community members to see the newly refurbished library, get library cards, and participate in activities for children. There will be brief announcements by City and County representatives at 11:00 am inside the library. Children may practice reading with dogs at the Paws for Reading program inside the library from 11:15 am to 12:30 pm sponsored by the Ventura County Reading Association. Outside the library from 11:15 am to 1:00 pm, the mural artists will be on hand to discuss the new exterior mural at the library. Attendees can enjoy a treat from the Mister Softee ice cream truck complimentary of the Friends of the Port Hueneme Library while supplies last.
The Prueter Library will then resume normal hours of operation starting on Monday, May 5, from 10:00 am to 6 pm.

Local author Dr. Kathleen Contreras will read from her new book, Harvesting Friends/Cosechando Amigos at 11:00 am, and each family in attendance will receive a copy while supplies last! Our community partners at Saticoy Food Hub will host a variety of gardening activities on our patio for children and families, including crafting seed piñatas!
