Harbor Patrol Blotter

Tuesday 9/2  

1:04pm, received complaint of fishermen “litering” in public on the rip rap in front of Harbor Town point.  Also E-bike riders operating dangerously in area.

3:04pm, dispatched to medical alarm at Ventura Pier.  Officers responded in Rescue B-19 to assist with patient assessment and treatment.

Wednes 9/3 

11:45pm, received report of a petroleum sheen near VWM A-dock.  Officers responded found the responsible vessel, placed boom around the vessel, and were able to secured the bilge pump until the mechanic make repairs.

5:49pm, received report of a disabled 36ft sailboat in the turning basin.  Officers responded in Fireboat, were able to safely tow the vessel back to VWM D-dock.

Thursday 9/4  

10:30am, observed NOAA removed Small Craft Advisory, retired warning pennant, raised colors at Port District flag pole.

Friday 9/5    

11:26am, observed a disabled 33ft sailboat in the main channel.  Officers towed the vessel to the boatyard for a haul-out.

1:20pm, dispatched to a sting ray strike at Harbor Cove.  Officers responded and assisted the patient with hot water treatment to the injury.

2:57pm, dispatched to a traffic collision near VIM parking lot.  Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist with patient assessment and treatment.

9:38pm, received report of a disabled sailboat 1 mile south of the harbor from the USCG.  Officers responded in Rescue B-19, towed vessel to longdock.

Saturday 9/6 

9:55am, dispatched to odor of fuel in the Portside complex.  Officers responded with VFD to investigate the report.  Unable to locate a odor or any fuel.

11:01am, dispatched to chest pain in the Ventura Marina Community.  Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist with patient assessment and treatment.

12:33pm, received report of kayakers in distress near the South Jetty.  Officers responded in Fireboat to assist State Parks Lifeguards with rescue.  For unknown reasons, the kayakers climbed onto the South Jetty with their kayaks.

3:25pm, received report of a disabled electric boat in the keys.  Officers responded in the Fireboat, towed the vessel to their slip at VWM D-dock.

5:30pm, received complaint about Vision boat rentals from a tennant of Portside marina.  The call was about the lack of instruction given to the renters because his vessel has been involved in collisions with the Vision boats most weekends.

10:35pm, dispatched to lift assist on a vessel in VWM.  Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist with lifting the patient out of a sailboat.

Sunday 9/7  

12:44am, dispatched to a fall patient at the Pierpont Bay Yacht club.  Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist with patient treatment for major head injury.

4:38pm, receiving reports of a disabled vessel with 7 persons onboard.  After investigation, the vessel is out of our area, Tow Boat US is assisting the vessel.

7:27pm, received report of a flare sighting near the Santa Clara Rivermouth.  Officers investigating but after search were unable to locate vessel in distress.

Monday 9/8   

5:21pm, dispatched to a wellness check in Portside complex.  Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist with patient assessment and treatment for a fall patient.
