This exclusive experience offers a behind-the-scenes journey through private residences, historic landmarks, and sweeping ocean vistas that are typically hidden from public view.
Start your afternoon in the stunning sanctuary of the historic Community Presbyterian Church with a special screening of the acclaimed documentary The Legends of Hobson Heights: The Untold Tales of 100 Years of Architecture, Triumph and Tragedy. Created by local storyteller and Realtor Toni Guy and directed by local filmmaker William Edwards, this captivating 50-minute film has earned semifinalist honors at the 2025 Hollywood Storytellers Film Festival and has already sold-out multiple screenings.
Then, set out on a self-guided walking tour of select Hobson Heights homes and landmarks. Using your phone and Toni’s audio narration, you’ll uncover personal stories, architectural gems, and historic secrets as you move from one unique location to the next. Many of these homes are rarely open to the public and offer curated gardens, panoramic ocean views, and design details that reflect a century of Ventura’s history.
Along the way, stop at a scenic lookout for a sneak peek of the Ventura Hills Nature Preserve, the breathtaking open space that borders the neighborhood. You’ll learn about the exciting plans for a brand-new pedestrian trailhead right in Hobson Heights — part of the conservation work led by Ventura Land Trust (VLT), the nonprofit championing the protection of Ventura’s wild and open spaces.
Cap the day with a Twilight Toast VIP cocktail hour at a private Hobson Heights residence, where VIP ticket holders will enjoy wine, craft cocktails, and appetizers in an intimate garden setting — all while mingling with local creatives, community leaders, and homeowners.
