Vol. 15, No. 01 – Oct 6 – Oct 19, 2021 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi, I’m Jezebel, a sweet Shih Tzu X in need of a new home as my owner can no longer care for me. I love attention and getting puppy massages. Although I’m supposedly 16 years old, everyone who meets me doesn’t see it. I walk well and enjoy going for my strolls. The only health related issue is dry eye, but it’s nothing some drops can’t fix. I would do best in an adult only home. It’s unknown how I would do with other animals, but I have not shown any dog aggression while with C.A.R.L. If you’re looking to add a golden gal to your home, give me a chance.

My name is Zorro, I was found running the streets. I am a 12-year-old Pit Bull Terrier Mix male. I lived for a while with someone who found me, and although I wasn’t a fan of their cat, I did get along with their little pug! So, I may be happy living with a family who has dog! I love playing with stuffed toys, giving kisses, and getting petted by my favorite volunteers. Because I’m just a good boy!! Please visit me and help me make my great escape into a forever home. Meet Kodiak! He is a 6-year-old Chow mix. He is on the small side for a Chow. He came to CARL when a good Samaritan found him at her doorstep and couldn’t find his owner. Kodiak was a perfect house guest, getting along with the resident 7-year-old and small dog. Since being at the rescue he doesn’t seem bothered by any of the dogs. Kodiak loves meeting new people and offering a proper paw. If you’re looking for a friendly, fluffy guy who enjoys all the pets and walks, Kodiak is the one. Scarlett is a beautiful 17-year-old calico with gorgeous long hair. Her favorite past time is getting soft chin scratches, then finding the best spot for a cat nap. She is a petite girl looking for a mellow household that also enjoys the occasional cat nap.

Lindsey and Lucky are Chow Heeler mixes who came from a home that had too many dogs. They are still shy with volunteers, but we are hoping after some decompression time they will warm up. Their lives were turned upside down when they came to CARL, so we understand they need their time to get used to everyone.

They are a bonded pair and would need a home together. We were told that they are great with other dogs and older children. They are available for foster or adoption. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Vol. 14, No. 23 – Aug 11 – Aug 24, 2021 – Forever Homes Wanted

Handsome almost 2-year-old Shepherd X Rascal is looking for someone who will build trust and have patience with him. He is another Devore transfer and takes a while to warm up to strangers. Since he has been at C.A.R.L. he has begun trusting volunteers who spend time with him throughout the week.

Interested parties are encouraged to visit him a few times in order to gain his trust. Currently we are unsure of how he would do with other animals or children, as we are still helping him befriend humans. He is an all-star walker and also enjoys hanging out in our arena with his volunteer friends. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Hi: I’m Cookie, an energetic 5-year-old Shepherd X rescued from an LA Shelter. I was turned in by my owner because I didn’t care for the new dog that came into the home. Even though I was there first, I was the one who had to go. I don’t react to the other dogs at the kennel, so if you have a fur baby in the home already, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet. Thankfully C.A.R.L. took me in and will help me find my true forever home.

If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L.CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Hi: I’m Pippa, a beautiful 4- year -old Bas-nji X in need of a new home. I was rescued from Animal Services where I was found as a stray.

My finders said I was good with kids (ages unknown) and I have some energy. It’s unknown how I’d do with other dogs or cats.

I was in a foster home for a short while. They said I was a great dog, but I kept jumping the short fence to torment the chickens.

If you have room in your heart and home for me, please fill out an application to meet me. CANINE ADOPTION AND RESCUE LEAGUE C.A.R.L.CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Hi: I’m Nani, an almost 3-year-old Siberian Husky who is looking for a fun and active family. I’m great with other dogs, both big and small, and would benefit from a fur sibling as I don’t enjoy being left home alone. I love people and exploring. I’m also great with children.

Torbie (tabby/tortie!) 5-year-old female.  When she first came to us she was very shut down and afraid.  She melted our hearts with her soulful eyes.  She is still shy, but is coming out of her sshell.  We found out she likes a gentle petting and has the softest purr. If you are looking for a mellow and sweet feline friend… this is your girl!

Come meet her during our cat adoptions from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Sundays!

Hi: I’m Capo, a friendly 1-year-old Shepherd Mix who was rescued from the Devore Shelter where I was left by my owner. I have a bright smile and gorgeous eyes. I am a friendly guy who walks well on a leash. I love to run around the play yard and sniff everything. I could possibly do okay with another dog, a meet and greet would have to be done first. If you’re looking for an active and lovable goofball, I’m your man. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Finn is a big, gorgeous boy who was surrendered because his previous owner no longer had time to provide the training, exercise and attention that Finn needed. Finn is very playful and friendly with people, but he may bark or lunge at dogs when he is on leash or behind a barrier (like a fence). At this time we are primarily looking for a rescue to pull Finn to ensure he goes into a breed-savvy home that can handle his size and needs.

Hi: I’m Aliso, a handsome 6 year old Pit Bull Terrier X who was rescued from a high-kill shelter where I was found as a stray. I was named after the canyon in Santa Paula.

Someone who met me at the shelter said I was such a sweet boy, loved to see a face that I knew and loved to have a visitor spend time with me. The person also thought I looked to have been someone’s lawn ornament for a long while. It’s time I was treated the way everyone should always be treated, with compassion, respect and most importantly with lots of love.
