Vol. 15, No. 05 – Dec 1 – Dec 14, 2021 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Jackson, an 8-year-old sweet American Staffordshire Terrier X who was rescued from an LA shelter by someone out-of-state who wanted to give me a chance at finding my forever home.
I accepted being touched all over my body including my paws, tail and mouth. I know sit, shake and take treats gently. I did not exhibit any food aggression when tested with chicken.

I need to be the only dog in the home. I’ve been lucky to be able to get time away from the kennel. I was quick to pick up potty training and I was a true gentleman when left alone in the home.

I’m grateful and happy to be in a safe place where I’ll be taken care of and given lots of love and attention. Someone who hasn’t even met me in person was willing to give me a chance, won’t you give me a chance too? Stop by and meet me. I’ll be waiting.

Hi: I’m Mason, a handsome 2 year old Chow mix who needs a home to help me build some confidence. I am easily frightened by noises. I did come in with my buddy Teddy, but we are not kenneled together. It is not known how I would do with other pets and children. Because I am a black dog I will tend to get overlooked. Please help me get seen and share me with all your friends and family. I’m a sweet soul who deserves a chance at a forever home.

Otter Pup, 2-year 5 month Pit Bull Terrier, loves to run and play, and especially loves playing with squeaky toys. He’s still a younger guy and would benefit from bring with someone who has the time and energy to keep provide structure so he can direct his energy into fun activities! With small kids and other dogs, Otter Pup can get really excited and can overwhelm them – so a home without little kids would be preferable. Kennel: 089. Vol. 15, No. 03 – Nov 3 – Nov 16, 2021 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Corky, a very active 10 month old German Shepherd X who was found as a stray. No one came to claim me, so I’m eagerly waiting for my forever family to come and take me home.

I’m a big boy who loves attention and playing. I tend to jump when I get excited and I’m a bit mouthy when playing.

I’ll need an active person or family who will exercise me daily. I love to run around so I might make a good running buddy. I know basic commands and I’m willing to learn more. I’m house trained and know how to use a doggie door.

Grizzly & Oscar were owned by a loving family who were no longer able to care for them and brought them to Ventura County Animal Services to be rehomed. They are a young, bonded pair who must be adopted together. Guinea pigs are social animals and typically prefer a companion, so having a bonded pair is advantageous! Grizzly and Oscar are adorable and fun-loving and enjoy playing and cuddling up together. Please learn about proper guinea pig care prior to adoption.

Vol. 15, No. 02 – Oct 20 – Nov 2, 2021 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Eli, a handsome 5 1/2 year old Rottweiler mix who is in need of a new home due to a move out-of-state and I can’t go along.

I did great living with the 18-month-old. I love other dogs and I have a submissive play style. I’ve attended doggie daycare and did great there. I’m not a fan of cats/squirrels and I can jump a 6 ft fence to chase them. I often return by jumping back over the fence. I’ll need a taller fence that can keep me out of trouble.

I enjoy balls, trips to the beach and belly rubs. I’m a happy, energetic boy who has some separation anxiety, but it’s gotten better over time. I’ve had formal training and know basic commands.

I rarely bark at home, but will bark when people approach the front door. Once new people are introduced properly outside, I have no problem with them entering the house.

Hi, I’m Jezebel, a sweet Shih Tzu X in need of a new home as my owner can no longer care for me. I love attention and getting puppy massages. Although I’m supposedly 16 years old, everyone who meets me doesn’t see it. I walk well and enjoy going for my strolls. The only health related issue is dry eye, but it’s nothing some drops can’t fix. I would do best in an adult only home. It’s unknown how I would do with other animals, but I have not shown any dog aggression while with C.A.R.L. If you’re looking to add a golden gal to your home, give me a chance.

Meet Kodiak! He is a 6-year-old Chow mix. He is on the small side for a Chow. He came to CARL when a good Samaritan found him at her doorstep and couldn’t find his owner. Kodiak was a perfect house guest, getting along with the resident 7-year-old and small dog. Since being at the rescue he doesn’t seem bothered by any of the dogs. Kodiak loves meeting new people and offering a proper paw. If you’re looking for a friendly, fluffy guy who enjoys all the pets and walks, Kodiak is the one. Lindsey and Lucky are Chow Heeler mixes who came from a home that had too many dogs. They are still shy with volunteers, but we are hoping after some decompression time they will warm up. Their lives were turned upside down when they came to CARL, so we understand they need their time to get used to everyone.

They are a bonded pair and would need a home together. We were told that they are great with other dogs and older children. They are available for foster or adoption. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Vol. 14, No. 23 – Aug 11 – Aug 24, 2021 – Forever Homes Wanted

Handsome almost 2-year-old Shepherd X Rascal is looking for someone who will build trust and have patience with him. He is another Devore transfer and takes a while to warm up to strangers. Since he has been at C.A.R.L. he has begun trusting volunteers who spend time with him throughout the week.

Interested parties are encouraged to visit him a few times in order to gain his trust. Currently we are unsure of how he would do with other animals or children, as we are still helping him befriend humans. He is an all-star walker and also enjoys hanging out in our arena with his volunteer friends. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.

Hi: I’m Cookie, an energetic 5-year-old Shepherd X rescued from an LA Shelter. I was turned in by my owner because I didn’t care for the new dog that came into the home. Even though I was there first, I was the one who had to go. I don’t react to the other dogs at the kennel, so if you have a fur baby in the home already, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet. Thankfully C.A.R.L. took me in and will help me find my true forever home.
