Vol. 10, No. 19 – June 21 – July 4, 2017 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Peaches a sweet 6 1/2 year old male Miniature Poodle who is in need of a new home as sadly my owner had to move to an assisted living facility that will not allow me to go too. I’m sad and a bit confused, but I know C.A.R.L. will help me find my forever home. I’m affectionate and enjoy a comfy lap to curl up in. I do not care for bigger dogs, but if you have a small fur baby in your home, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet. I may do best in an older adult only home as I’m used to living with an older person. I hope it’s not long before I’m back in the comforts of a loving home. Hi: I’m Poker an exuberant 1 year old Labrador Retriever. I’m great with other large dogs and children too, but I might do best in a home with older children as I’m very active and may accidentally knock over a smaller child. I have learned some basics – come, sit and I walk well on a leash. I’m super friendly and love to play. I’d make a great addition to an active family that has time for me too. I need daily exercise and playtime otherwise I’ll find things to amuse myself with which might not be what you had in mind. If you have room in your home and heart for wonderful me, stop by and meet me! I’m sure you’ll be glad that you did! Cupid has patiently waited for nearly a year to meet his forever family. This easy going boy is very tidy with his litter box and does well in Bunny Playgroup at Ventura County Animal Services. White bunnies like Cupid often get overlooked in favor of those with more striking coloring. Potential adopters who spend time sitting with Cupid will discover that he is eager to be a loyal companion to someone who is willing to offer him a safe and loving indoor home. Hi: I’m Ava, an inquisitive and friendly 1 1/2 year old  Chow who was rescued from Animal Services where I was taken as a stray. My owner did not come for me and I was quickly adopted, but returned as I did not get along with the goats that also resided there. Thankfully C.A.R.L. came to my rescue and I know I’m sure to find my forever home (without goats.

I’m active and good with other dogs, but no cats(or goats) please. I can easily clear a 6 foot fence therefore I may do best in a home without a yard with people who are active and will exercise me daily. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. Call 644-7387 for more information.

Copper

Hi: I’m Copper a gorgeous 8 year old Chow mix rescued from a shelter. I’m a very friendly and engaging senior who is all about love and affection. Some dogs are best described as playmates, others are best friends, companions, protectors or therapy dogs. I’m all of those things, but in a word, I can best be described as a soul mate. When I look at you, it’s deep and knowing as if I’m taking in the very core of you.  If I sound like the girl for you, stop by and meet me! Hi: Lena is one of the most beautiful dogs we have met. She is sweet, loving and so happy to just get attention from anyone. She was found as a stray. Can you imagine being lost and blind? We think she is about 6 years old so she has lots of living and loving left. Blind dogs manege surprisingly well. Talk to one of our wonderful medical personnel to find out how. She is about 5 pounds and would love to be your best friend. Ventura County Animal Services – Camarillo location – 600 Aviation Drive. A660614 Lena

Hi: I’m Cricket a sweet Pug who would be great for someone looking for companionship and love. I do okay by myself for a few hours, but I prefer to have someone around. My previous owner said I’m not good with cats.  I’ve participated in playgroups at the kennel and I’m great with other dogs big and small.  I’m good with children, but I’m used to living with an older gentleman. Although volunteers and staff are wonderful at the kennel, it’s not the life for me. I really want to be back in a loving home with my special someone. Vol. 10, No. 11 – March 1 – March 14, 2017 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Mahlaya a very sweet and a little shy 8 year old American Staffordshire Terrier X who is need of a new home. The older female dog in the home started picking on me when I was 7 months old. We were separated and went to training (I’ve successfully completed intermediate and advanced education classes as well as successfully completing the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test) and things were fine again. But then it started again and we have been separated for a while now. Being separated all the time isn’t a great way for me to live. I want to be part of the family and be able to interact all the time.

I’m good with small dogs, I love children, toys and playing fetch and I absolutely love the water! I’ve had formal training and know — sit, stay, lay down, shake, high five, return to side and come. I walk well on a leash and love to go for runs and walks too. I hope you will come meet and see for yourself what a wonderful girl I am. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. Call 644-7387 for more information.

James was lost and alone. Who knows how long he was on the streets. He got a rough start at the shelter too. He was fearful of everyone and hid as far back in his little kennel as he could. Staff and volunteers kept encouraging him to socialize. Now James wants nothing more than to be held and cuddle. Do you have a lap? Do you like to cuddle? James can be found in kennel #251.
