Vol. 10, No. 11 – March 1 – March 14, 2017 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Mahlaya a very sweet and a little shy 8 year old American Staffordshire Terrier X who is need of a new home. The older female dog in the home started picking on me when I was 7 months old. We were separated and went to training (I’ve successfully completed intermediate and advanced education classes as well as successfully completing the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test) and things were fine again. But then it started again and we have been separated for a while now. Being separated all the time isn’t a great way for me to live. I want to be part of the family and be able to interact all the time.

I’m good with small dogs, I love children, toys and playing fetch and I absolutely love the water! I’ve had formal training and know — sit, stay, lay down, shake, high five, return to side and come. I walk well on a leash and love to go for runs and walks too. I hope you will come meet and see for yourself what a wonderful girl I am. James was lost and alone. Who knows how long he was on the streets. He got a rough start at the shelter too. He was fearful of everyone and hid as far back in his little kennel as he could. Staff and volunteers kept encouraging him to socialize. Now James wants nothing more than to be held and cuddle. Do you have a lap? Do you like to cuddle? James can be found in kennel #251.
