The Buenaventura Art Association is proud to announce its 36th Annual Open Competition, a juried exhibition celebrating outstanding works of art from regional artists. The event will take place from May 3 to May 28 at the Ojai Art Center, located at 113 South Montgomery St.
Renowned acrylic artist Marcia Burtt,will serve as the juror for this year’s competition. She holds a B.A. in fine art from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree from the University of Montana Her work is in collections nationwide. Burtt has brought her experienced eye and artistic sensibility to the selection and awards process.
A public reception and awards presentation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m., where attendees can meet the artists, enjoy refreshments, and celebrate the winners.
This much-anticipated annual event promises a diverse array of artistic expressions, highlighting the creativity and talent of participating artists. All are welcome to attend and experience this vibrant arts community.
BAA, Ventura’s premier arts group, was founded in 1954. Its Art Center and the association office is at 1591 Spinnaker Drive, #207, in Ventura Harbor Village. It also has a nearby outlet at Harbor Village Gallery & Gifts, 1559 Spinnaker Drive, #106, and a display at SpiceTopia, a retail store at 576 E. Main St. in downtown Ventura.
