Bridging the Digital Divide for Older Adults in Ventura County

The Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA) recognizes a critical gap in digital access for many of Ventura County’s older adults and individuals living with disabilities. In response, the agency has partnered with several organizations to help bridge the digital divide and promote online engagement and safety.

GetSetUp
The VCAAA has teamed up with GetSetUp to combat social isolation and support digital learning for older adults through live, interactive classes.

GetSetUp offers a wide variety of live video sessions on topics such as technology, cooking, fitness, finances, arts and crafts, virtual travel and more. Classes are taught by older adults who are experts in their fields, creating a relatable and welcoming environment.

Through a custom-built video learning platform, participants can connect with a safe community of more than 4 million peers around the world—any time, from the comfort of their own homes.

Trualta
Trualta is an online resource for family caregivers managing care at home. Provided by the VCAAA, it offers support for dealing with challenging behaviors and building stronger connections with loved ones. Caregivers can share experiences and learn alongside others facing similar challenges.

Ventura County Libraries
