The Palms at Bonaventure, located at 111 North Wells Rd., will welcome the greater Ventura community for its designer remodel unveiling event, “A New Frontier: New Look, Same Exceptional Care” on Wednesday, August 12, from 3 to 6 pm. The event features live entertainment, refreshments and support for the Alzheimer’s Association.
The western-themed event marks the completion of extensive upgrades to all the community’s common areas, including the sitting areas, dining room, library, game room and fitness center. The renovations bring a new, modernized atmosphere to the community and refresh the spaces with new furniture, paint, carpet and lighting. The renovation was a $1.5 million investment in the community.
These changes are designed to enrich the daily lives of residents while continuing to provide the highest standard of assisted living and Generations memory care since the community opened in 2007.
“When we invest in updating our common spaces, we are investing in our residents’ daily joy and dignity. Our community should be a place where residents are proud to invite their children and grandchildren,” said Brandy McCauley, Executive Director of The Palms. “This remodel also represents that growing older shouldn’t mean shrinking your world, it should mean expanding it in a space that feels welcoming.”
Guests will experience the community’s modernized look while enjoying a lively cowboy-inspired afternoon, a theme that ties in with the community’s proximity to a farming community. The Ventura Chamber of Commerce will be in attendance to celebrate the community’s milestone. Guests can also participate in a raffle featuring various curated prizes.
Entertainment will be provided by local favorites, like line dancing by local performers the Ventucky Stompers and live country music. A country buffet spread prepared by the culinary team will include Nashville chicken skewers, cheeseburger sliders, chocolate Texas sheet cake, corn bread muffins with honey butter, roasted corn dip and Cajun cheddar biscuits.
The event is also a chance to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association and support the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s. A representative from the Alzheimer’s Association will be in attendance to speak with attendees, answer questions and raise awareness for dementia care, research and support.
