Join Focus on the Masters (FOTM) for an unforgettable evening of art, nature, and community at A Garden Affair — For the Love of Art, set against the stunning backdrop of the Ventura Botanical Gardens. This festive benefit supports FOTM’s award-winning arts education programs, including the Learning to See Outreach, a sequential arts curriculum that serves at-risk youth and Title 1 schools, and the highly anticipated return of the Artist Spotlight Interviews.
“This annual gathering is always so much fun!” says Founder and Executive Director Donna Granata. “For the Love of Art is a celebration of the extraordinary artists, patrons, volunteers, community partners, and staff who help us preserve and share Ventura County’s creative legacy.”
Guests will enjoy an evening of live music, delicious food, engaging activities, a silent auction, raffle prizes, and great camaraderie — all in support of arts education and cultural preservation.
Now in its 30th year, FOTM has reached more than 280,000 students through its innovative, art-inspired lessons that emphasize creativity, empathy, and perseverance. “Our local artists become role models for students,” says Program Director Aimee French. “As they engage with hands-on lessons, students gain confidence in expressing themselves and appreciating the diversity of artistic voices.”
FOTM’s Arts Archive & Library houses a rare and growing collection that includes over 2,500 hours of oral histories, artist interviews, digital artwork, publications, and cultural ephemera. These materials are made available by appointment to scholars, museums, historians, and the media.
All proceeds from the event support FOTM’s mission to integrate the arts into everyday life and education. As Granata puts it: “Art builds empathy and understanding. No two artistic expressions are alike—just as no two people are alike.”
