by Ventura Breeze Staff
The Humane Society of Ventura County (HSVC) is working hard to keep pets out of shelters and in the homes where they belong. One of the most impactful ways they support pet owners is through a variety of free pet food programs available throughout Ventura County.
HSVC encourages the community to support this vital work by donating to its pet food initiatives today.
Pet Food Bank in Ojai
The HSVC Pet Food Bank, located at 402 Bryant St. in Ojai, provides free dry and wet dog and cat food. Pet owners can stop by any time Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In addition, HSVC operates Pantry 4 Paws, a countywide distribution program with multiple pet food banks across Ventura County. The program is designed to serve underserved and unhoused community members.
You can support Pantry 4 Paws by donating unopened bags of dry dog or cat food at the Ojai shelter. Contributions can also be made through the HSVC Amazon Wishlist or Chewy.com Wishlist.
Welfare agencies, nonprofits, or businesses that serve unhoused individuals and are interested in hosting a free Pantry 4 Paws installation should contact:
