Drakeo is about 3 years old and has been very friendly with everyone he’s met at the shelter. In his previous home, he reportedly did well with children and babies and was described as house-trained, calm and relaxed. Although he primarily lived indoors, he can also enjoy spending time outside.
Volunteers have noticed that Drakeo’s paws may be sore. He walks gingerly and is often reluctant to walk on rough surfaces. He also needs support when meeting other dogs, and Ventura County Animal Services volunteers have been working to help him participate in playgroups more regularly.
Shelter life has been especially difficult for Drakeo. He’s constantly surrounded by barking dogs and doesn’t get out often enough, making it hard for him to relax. He would love a soft, comfortable place to land through adoption or rescue, but a foster home would also make a tremendous difference.
