Wednesday 2/18
6:01am, observed NOAA issued a Gale Warning, warning pennants still up.
7:30am, while on patrol observed Manson construction removing maintenance dredge equipment from Surfers Knoll and South Beach.
Thursday 2/19
6:05am, observed Gale Warning still up as are the warning pennants.
9:30am, RB-19 and Fireboat conducting traffic control for the H.R. Morris dredge preparing to depart to longbeach and next maintenance dredge project.
1:56pm, dispatched to Ocean Rescue, kite surfer in distress near the Ventura Pier. Officers responded in Rescue Boat 19 to assist with the rescue. After searching the area, it was determined that a lobster trap buoy was mistaken as a person in the water by the reporting party.
Friday 2/20
6:41am, observed NOAA downgraded Gale to Small Craft Advisory, changed warning pennants to a single pennant for Small Craft Advisory.
8:30am, officers headed to Channel Islands Boatyard to assist with various projects on Harborwatch vessel including Radar arch work.
6:39pm, received a request for a jumpstart for a vehicle with a dead battery. Officers responded in the vehicle, were able to assist with starting the vehicle.
Saturday 2/21
8:50am, officers performing pre-operational checks on vessels and vehicles for the day. All vessels and vehicles checked out, ready for service.
11:45am, received report of boat work causing pollution in Ventura West Marina. Officers responded in Rescue Boat 19 to investigate report. Upon arrival observed obvious signs of woodwork around the vessel at VWM A-dock. Contacted disturbing party, came up with plan to cut the wood inside the vessel.
6:50pm, received request for a ride from H.R. Morris employees on Manson barge to the launch ramp. Officers transported the crew aboard Rescue B-19.
Sunday 2/22
10:03am, new officers studying for their US Coast Guard captains license.
5:30pm, received report of a transient naked, without pants eating near businesses in the Village. Officers responded in the vehicle to investigate report. After a search of the area and village, unable to locate any half-naked persons.
Monday 2/23
6:35am, while on patrol in the truck, observed a derelict vessel illegally moored at the launch ramp. Officers attempted to contact the owner, but were unable to locate. A strongly worded written warning was issued and placed on the vessel.
8:30am, while on patrol in Rescue Boat 19, observed a Hazard to navigation, large log in the main channel of the harbor. It was removed, towed to the L/R.
10:45am, Army Corps of Engineers utilizing the District longdock to moor their survey vessel. They are preforming assessment surveys of recent dredging ops.
Tuesday 2/24
5:44am, observed NOAA issued a Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant
3:46pm, dispatched to a fall victim in the Portside complex. Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist with patient treatment and assessment.
