5:35am, observed NOAA issued a Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant.
7:45am, received report of a adrift cement dock near VWM H-dock. Officers responded in Rescue Boat 19, towed the dock back to the launch ramp.
9:15am, assisting Manson construction with traffic control while they submerge the maintenance dredging pipe across the main channel from the sandtrap.
Wednes 2/4
5:24am, dispatched to medical at Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist with patient treatment/assessment.
Thursday 2/5
8:00am, observed NOAA issued a Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant
10:16pm, received report of “arching” on the roof of the launch ramp fuel dock. Officers contacted fire dispatch, Ventura fire responded, notified Edison, placed notification on the business door.
Friday 2/6
8:00am, officers meeting with boat builder Ed Anderson to discuss new Fireboat build at the Ventura Port District patrol dock.
12:45pm, assisting beach cleanup, picking up filled trash bags from the beach.
5:30pm, received request for an escort from Island Packers vessel experiencing engine trouble. Officers responded in Rescue B-19, escorted to slip in village.
8:46pm, received report of a commercial vessel pushing a wake through the harbor. Offices attempted to contact on VHF 16, but received no response.
Saturday 2/7
11:35am, observed swimmers caught in a rip current at the South Jetty from the truck. Officers contacted the group, educated about large surf and rip currents.
6:23pm, while on patrol in Rescue Boat 19, observed fishermen near the entrance with hoop nets placed illegally. Officers contacted several fishermen for prohibited placement and for insufficient safety equipment on their vessels.
Sunday 2/8
12:09pm, dispatched to difficulty breathing in the Portside community. Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist with patient treatment and assessment.
5:33pm, officers working on continuing education online to recertify Emergency Medical Technician certification.
5:43pm, dispatched to sick person at Ventura Isle Marina parking lot. Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist with patient treatment and assessment.
Monday 2/9
5:10pm, received request for passing instructions from a large inbound catamaran near the #2 navigation buoy. Officers advised that the H.R. Morris is working in the sandtrap and to follow “Red-Right-Returning” navigation rules.
6:50pm, received report of a vessel in the surfline from Manson “Pup” in the sandtrap. Officers responded in Rescue Boat 19, reporting party advised the 25ft vessel somehow made it through breaking waves and fled the area toward pier.
Tuesday 2/10
3:35pm, received relayed “Mayday” call for a 18ft Hobie-kat pinned against inside of the breakwall, beset by 25kts of Southeast wind and dredge pipe. Officers responded in Rescue Boat 19, but were also hindered by the same winds and objects. After several attempts, officers were able to get close enough to pass the tow line to the 2 POB’s. The sailboat was towed to the launch ramp with damage to pontoons with assistance from Tow Boat U.S.
