Fall Activity Guide Available

The City of Ventura Parks and Recreation Department has released its Fall Activity Guide, featuring hundreds of classes, programs, and events scheduled from September through January.

Registration opens Tuesday, Aug. 4, at noon. Residents may register online, by phone, or in person at Ventura City Hall, 501 Poli St., Room 226. Registration policies and additional information are available on page 43 of the guide.

The guide offers activities for all ages, including ceramics, cooking, creative writing, parent-and-child classes, pet wellness, fitness, sports, and more. New free workshops on financial literacy and health and safety are featured on pages 10 and 11.

“We believe parks and recreation help build a stronger, healthier, and more connected community,” said Parks & Recreation Director Stacey Zarazua. “Whether you’re learning a new skill, spending time with family, or exploring a new hobby, the Fall Activity Guide offers opportunities for everyone to stay active, meet new people, and enjoy all that Ventura has to offer.”

A printed copy of the guide will be mailed to every Ventura household. Additional copies are available during business hours at Ventura City Hall, Westpark Community Center, Barranca Vista Community Center, Ventura Aquatic Center, and Ventura Avenue Adult Center.

July is also National Parks and Recreation Month, which recognizes the role parks and recreation programs play in supporting healthy communities.

The Ventura Parks and Recreation Department manages more than 800 acres of parks and open space, three community centers, three community gardens, multiple historic sites, and the Ventura Aquatic Center.

The guide is available online at cityofventura.ca.gov/ActivityGuide.
