Vol. 16, No. 08 – Jan 11 – Jan 24, 2023 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi, I’m Bailey, a sweet Pit Bull X in need of a new home as I started not getting along with one of the other dogs in the home.

I love to play, chew bones, snuggle, get pet and treats. I’m energetic and love to be around my people. I’m good with older children, but may be too energetic (may also jump) for smaller children. If you have a fur baby in the home, please bring them so we can do a meet and greet. I need a fence at least 6 feet in height. I know some basic commands (sit, softly, kiss and lie down).

I know my breed gets a bad rap, but I hope you’ll give me a chance. If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. https://carldogs.org/

Vol. 16, No. 07 – Dec 28, 2022 – Jan 10, 2023 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Anubis, named after the Egyptian god, a beautiful 4 1/2 year old Pit Bull X who is in need of a new home as I don’t care for dogs or cats.

I’m a very sweet social dog with people and need an active home where I can be your one and only. I enjoy chasing balls and playing tug. I’m good with older children, but it’s unknown how I’d do with younger ones.

I have environmental allergies and take Zyrtec once a day, fish oil daily and eat Science Diet for sensitive skin and stomach. I know basic commands, but need work on walking on leash (I tend to pull). Although I don’t have a history of escaping, I do need a fence over 6′.

If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me.

Hi: I’m Sugar Bear, a shy but friendly 7-year-old Australian Cattle Dog X who is in need of a new home as I was abandoned by someone who no longer wanted me. Hi: I’m Buddy Boy, a 6-year-old Schnauzer X in need of a new home as my owner passed away and no one could take me in. I came in with Lucy Lou and we wouldn’t mind staying together, but we don’t have to be adopted together.

I’m good with people, but would do best in an adult only home. I’m good with other dogs, but it’s unknown how I’d do with cats.

I’m a little overweight, so I’ll need someone who will take me for daily walks.

Hi: I’m Raddish, a handsome 3+ year old Siberian Husky who was rescued from an OC Shelter where I was found as a stray. A group of people have stepped up to sponsor me so I can be a part of the CARL program and find my forever home.

I love to play in water, walk well on leash, not dog aggressive, and enjoy using my voice to let you know how excited I am. The CARL volunteers say I’m a sweetheart and well tempered and I deserve a loving companion or family. It is unknown how I’d behave with children or cats.

Vol. 16, No. 03 – Nov 2 – Nov 15, 2022 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Paca, a shy, sweet 6 year old Chow that was rescued after my owner passed away. My house sold quickly and was gated up. It’s unknown if I escaped and couldn’t be caught or someone turned me loose to fend for myself. Either way I was out on my own for two months in very hot weather. As you can see I’ve been shaved down. After being scared and on my own, my fur became matted and I needed to be shaved. But don’t worry, my beautiful fur will grow back.

CARL volunteers are working on getting to know my likes/dislikes and helping me with leash training. I’m happy to explore my new world when I go out for my regular walking route. I have not been reactive to other dogs. I’m shy of strangers. A huge heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful people who helped rescue me and who donated towards my care.

If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me.

Vol. 16, No. 02 – Oct 19 – Nov 1, 2022 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Thena, a cute 4-month-old Shepherd X who wandered up to a CARL volunteer’s house. How fortunate I was to find her house. No one came to claim me, so I’m now up for adoption.

I am almost through my chew everything in sight stage and I have a couple of things I am supposed to chew that I love so you can safely welcome me into your home. I love other dogs and I understand correction warnings so even though I am still a puppy, my older foster brothers and sister can tolerate me. I do love to play

Since I’m just a puppy, children in the home must be at least 6 years of age. I know I’m cute and everyone will want me, but please be sure you’re ready to take on a puppy as it’s similar to having a newborn in the home.

If you’re ready and able to give me a lifetime of love and wonderful memories, please fill out an application to meet me. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. https://carldogs.org/

Meet Leroy, a cuddly 5-year-old domestic longhair cat. He was sadly discovered in an apartment when his family moved out, so the landlord brought him to VCAS for care. During his time here, we discovered that Leroy is diabetic. We are managing his diabetes nicely through a change in diet and that seems to be affective. He is not currently receiving insulin injections.

So, if you’d like to meet Leroy, schedule an appointment at www.vcas.us/adopt or come down to the shelter during normal Adoption Hours of 1:00pm – 6:00pm Tuesday – Sunday. If you have questions, please contact us at (805) 388-4341 or [email protected].

Vol. 16, No. 01 – Oct 5 – Oct 18, 2022 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: We’re Shuri and Scarlet, beautiful Shepherd X rescued from a LA Shelter where we were found as strays. When we first came to CARL, we were very scared and unsure about people. Everyone tried to reassure us that we were safe now and could relax.

We’re happy to say we’ve come a long way since first arriving at CARL and now enjoy going on walks and playing in the arena. Each week we become more trusting and confident.

Although we enjoy each other’s company and wouldn’t mind being adopted together, it is not required we be adopted together. It’s unknown how we’d do with other dogs, but may do ok if the other dog is not dominant.

So, Snapple is still here, waiting for his forever home. He’s a little under the weather, but due to our expert veterinary care, he’s doing much better! If you’d like to meet Snapple, schedule an appointment at https://www.vcas.us/adopt or come down to the shelter during normal Adoption Hours of 1:00pm – 6:00pm Tuesday – Sunday. Vol. 15, No. 26 – Sept 21 – Oct 4, 2022 – Forever Homes Wanted

Help us help Lucy! Lucy has fractured a few teeth and has bleeding gums from attempting to chew through the chain link fence in her run. We are desperately searching for a foster or forever home for this girl. This sweet senior gal enjoys her walks at the kennel and loves both staff and volunteers. Unfortunately she is showing signs of kennel stress and is getting anxious in the noisy, scary kennel environment. Lucy is one of our senior gals and while she does not require much, she would prefer to be the only fur baby in the home. If you think you might be able to house this girl and provide her with much needed respite from the kennel, please fill out an online application. Vol. 15, No. 25 – Sept 7 – Sept 20, 2022 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Shea (Shea Shea Butter), a shy Shepherd X who was rescued from a kill shelter where I was found as a malnourished stray. My rescuer is moving out of the country and I can’t go.

I get spooked easily as I’m blind in my right eye due to scarring from a previous unknown trauma. For this reason I’d do best in an adult only home or a home with older children. I’m active so another active dog and active humans as well as a friendly cat would be great for me. I currently live with an elderly cat and another dog and we’re all best of friends.

After a few months of being rescued, I now know what true love feels like, how to be a puppy again, and have discovered treats and toys for the first time.

I’m looking forward to being a part of a loving forever family. If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. CARL Adoption Center-call 644-7387 for more information.
