Vol. 16, No. 15 – Apr 19 – May 2, 2023 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Ruby, a sweet loving gentle soul that loves to be loved. My life has not always been easy but I’ve never given up and continue to fight hard to find my place in this world. My foster dad says the time he has spent with me has been a pleasure and ever so rewarding. As I’m a little older in age, I am at the point in my life that I enjoy the big comfy couch as much as my morning walks.

Connecting with me took my foster parents only moments really and I am now eager to be at one’s side. Just the other evening my foster dad watched me spend an hour self entertaining searching and sniffing for the ever elusive groundhog that lives under my foster dad’s shed
I will make a wonderful new addition to your family for years to come. If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me.

Vol. 16, No. 14 – Apr 5 – Apr 18, 2023 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: We’re Izzy and Ninja, adorable 8 months old Chows in need of a new home as a neighbor complained about barking, but we were just barking at their dogs who were growling at the fence. We’re just grateful CARL was able to accept us into their program and we’re lucky to be in a foster home.

We’re active, good with other dogs and older children. We bark when we need to go outside. Nina may need extra high fencing as she can climb out of an exercise pen and climb over a play gate.

Since we’re still puppies, children in the home must be at least 6 years of age. We know we’re cute and everyone will want us, but please be sure you’re ready to take on a puppy as it’s similar to having a newborn (2-legged kind) in the home.

If you’re ready and able to give us a lifetime of love and wonderful memories, please fill out an application to meet us.

Meet 1.5-year-old indoor rabbit Crawford – in VCAS Bunny Brigade care since he was a newborn. We would love to see him have a happy life as a house bunny outside of the shelter! Though he can be a little shy around new people, he’s a very curious and playful guy once he warms up to you. Crawford is litterbox trained and good to live with cats & older children.

If you’d like to meet Crawford, email [email protected] and one of our Bunny Brigade volunteers will reach out to you soon! To view all of our available rabbits: vcas.us/rabbits 🐰

Hi: My name is Daisy! I am a beautiful lab/pitbull mix and I am estimated to be about 10 years old. My previous owner was a disabled vet who passed away with me by his side, and unfortunately, I am struggling at my new home due to vast differences in lifestyles. Since I was a service dog, I would work best with someone I can be with 24/7 (homebound, handicapped, etc.) I do have separation anxiety when I am home alone, but I am very sweet and well mannered when I am with company. I am great to join you in car rides, on walks, or just laying by your side.

Zander (male), Trinity (female) and Leia (female) are all still searching for their forever homes! These three are the last of the Terrier mix litter that we saved from Kern County thanks to the generous donations we received from our rescue community. They are 10 weeks old and we think they’ll end up being medium sized dogs. All three enjoy being in a puppy pile, chasing around their foster siblings, and exuding maximum cuteness with zero effort. Meet Joey & Shiela, two playful Husky Shepherd mixes looking for forever homes. Joey & Shiela are about 2-3 years old and came in together as strays. They both have done well in pack playgroups with dogs of varying energy levels, but especially love attention from humans! They’re great with commands like sit and down. Joey & Shiela are just as happy individually and do not necessarily need to be adopted together!

If you’d like to meet Joey or Shiela, schedule an appointment at https://www.vcas.us/adopt or come down to the shelter during normal Adoption Hours of 1:00pm – 6:00pm Tuesday – Sunday. If you have questions, please contact us at (805) 388-4341 or [email protected]. We are located at 600 Aviation Drive Camarillo, CA 93010.

Vol. 16, No. 12 – Mar 8 – Mar 21, 2023 – Forever Homes Wantes

Hi: I’m Zander, a snuggly, happy, playful 2 month old pup rescued from a shelter when my time was almost up. The shelter had me listed as tri-color for breed, but CARL thinks I might be Terrier X. When I grow up I may be small to medium sized (15 – 40 lbs).

In spite of a less-than-ideal start in life, I’m grateful to be in a fantastic foster home with a foster mom who has lots of experience with puppies! My foster mom is giving me lots of love, attention and the best of care. I can’t wait to be a cherished member of a loving family.

Since I’m just a puppy, children in the home must be at least 6 years of age. It’s a lifetime commitment, not a temporary one where the love and attention wears off after I’m grown.

If you’re ready and able to give me a lifetime of love and wonderful memories, please fill out an application to meet me.

Glitter is a playful 3 year old lab mix (A807539) who arrived in September, 2022 after being struck by a car. She has since fully recovered from hip surgery! While recovering, Glitter lived with two other dogs in foster care and plays well with dogs of a similar size – just not too rowdy for the sake of her hip! She even knows sit, down, and paw.

Due to her injury she’s one our longer stays. She’s a real catch and we know she’d make an awesome addition to any family!

Boomer is an affectionate 6-year-old pittie! Boomer loves leaning into humans for pets, curling up in small cozy spaces, and toys! As a pup, he never learned how to live with other cats or dogs, so would be best as the only animal in the home. Boomer loves people though and even knows “sit!” VCAS Boomer (A804722)

Hi: I’m Athena, a 9 1/2 year old Pit Bull X rescued from a shelter in my hour of need. My puppy was adopted and my time was up. Thankfully I have supporters willing to sponsor me and I was able to be saved. I know I will be looked over because of my breed, but I hope my special someone will come for me soon.

I’m sweet and affectionate and I give great kisses. I love going on car rides and I’m well behaved. The shelter said I am not good with other dogs, but others think I may just be choosy with other dogs. It’s unknown how I would do with children or cats.

Pop is a 1-year-old indoor rabbit! Pop is a little unsure of new people at first but once he warms up to you he is playful and adventurous! He is good with mellow dogs and cats who will leave him to hop around in peace. He would love to be your little house bunny and hang out on the couch! To adopt Pop, email the Bunny Brigade at [email protected].

Vol. 16, No. 09 – Jan 25 – Feb 7, 2023 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi: I’m Rico, a handsome and sweet 5 1/2-year-old Husky in need of a new home as I didn’t get along with the other dog in the home.

I’m a big boy who is very energetic and needs daily exercise and play time. I’d make a great running buddy as I love to run with the volunteers who take me out. I am strong and tend to pull a bit as I’m so excited to be out and about exploring. I’m a little reactive to other dogs at the kennel, but not bad with neighboring dogs or on walks with other dogs.

Zsa Zsa is a gorgeous, intelligent 6-year-old blue pit. Her foster dad tells us she is completely house & crate trained, quiet, & cuddly. He has worked with her on both agility and obedience training – both of which she excels at! Zsa Zsa loves people and is all in all an affectionate, attentive girl. Her foster parents have done an incredible job setting her up for success, but we need to find her a permanent home! (A798710)

Vol. 16, No. 08 – Jan 11 – Jan 24, 2023 – Forever Homes Wanted

Hi, I’m Bailey, a sweet Pit Bull X in need of a new home as I started not getting along with one of the other dogs in the home.

I love to play, chew bones, snuggle, get pet and treats. I’m energetic and love to be around my people. I’m good with older children, but may be too energetic (may also jump) for smaller children. If you have a fur baby in the home, please bring them so we can do a meet and greet. I need a fence at least 6 feet in height. I know some basic commands (sit, softly, kiss and lie down).

I know my breed gets a bad rap, but I hope you’ll give me a chance. If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application. Canine Adoption and Rescue League C.A.R.L. https://carldogs.org/

Hi: I’m Anubis, named after the Egyptian god, a beautiful 4 1/2 year old Pit Bull X who is in need of a new home as I don’t care for dogs or cats.

I’m a very sweet social dog with people and need an active home where I can be your one and only. I enjoy chasing balls and playing tug. I’m good with older children, but it’s unknown how I’d do with younger ones.

I have environmental allergies and take Zyrtec once a day, fish oil daily and eat Science Diet for sensitive skin and stomach. I know basic commands, but need work on walking on leash (I tend to pull). Although I don’t have a history of escaping, I do need a fence over 6′.

If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me.
