Oct. 2: The “Sespe Flyfishers of Ventura” will again be conducting our “First Saturday” introductory class on Fly Fishing and Casting the Fly Rod. There is no charge, and all are welcome. Whether you are an experienced fly fisher or a complete novice we want to help you learn and enjoy this great sport. If you don’t yet have a fly rod, don’t worry, just come, and use one of ours. Please join us at Chumash Park, Petit and Waco, 9 – 11 a.m., in East Ventura, off Telephone Rd. Oct. 6: Ventura County Garden Club will meet for a docent led tour of the Ventura Botanical Gardens on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Guests are welcome. Admission is $7.

Oct.8,9,10&15: Namba Performing Arts Space is launching the First annual Women’s Voices Festival, in the spirit of Hollywood Fringe, Solo Fest, and LA Women’s Theater Festival. We will be showing 8, culturally diverse solo stories performed by the award-winning women who wrote them. Each show has received awards, laurels and peer recognition while sharing stories from women in diverse communities. Location 47 S. Oak Street.
