Historic Running Event Returns May 30, Supporting At-Promise Youth and Families
City Impact, Inc., a cornerstone of mental health care and youth services in Ventura County for three decades, announces the return of its signature fundraising event, the 16th Annual Beachfront Run, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Ventura Promenade. The event will offer Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and Kids 1K Run options along one of California’s most scenic coastal routes.
“The Beachfront Run represents the heart of our community coming together to support the young people who are the future of Ventura County,” says Cynthia Torres, Executive Director of City Impact. “For sixteen years, this event has been more than a race; it’s a celebration of resilience, hope, and the power of collective action to create positive change.”
Since its first event in 2011, the Beachfront Run has become a highlight of Ventura County’s running calendar, attracting over 900 participants, spectators, and volunteers annually. The flat, out-and-back course begins on the north side of Ventura Pier and continues along the oceanfront promenade and Pacific Coast Highway, showcasing Ventura’s pristine beaches and ocean views. Over the past 15 years, thousands of community members have participated to support City Impact’s mission of transforming lives through mental health services, youth outreach, and family support programs.
City Impact serves over 500 individuals annually—97% from low-income households and 96% from the Hispanic/Latino community—through programs addressing educational, physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being. Proceeds from the Beachfront Run directly fund counseling services, youth outreach, family support, academic assistance, violence prevention, support groups, and job skills training, including the Transformation Works program, which helps youth successfully meet probation and parole requirements.
Early registration is encouraged at www.cityimpact.com/beachfront-run-2026.html. Participants registering after March 15 may not receive preferred shirt sizes. Race-day registration opens 40 minutes before each start. The half marathon runs along the promenade and Pacific Coast Highway; the 10K extends to Emma Wood Campground and back; and the 5K follows an out-and-back course along the promenade.
The Beachfront Run reflects City Impact’s collaborative approach to community building, supported by partnerships with local schools, law enforcement, Ventura County Probation, Children & Family Services, and faith-based organizations. Sponsorship opportunities remain available for businesses wishing to support youth development and community wellness, with tiers ranging from Presenting Partner to In-Kind partnerships.
City Impact, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving at-promise youth and families throughout Ventura County, including Oxnard, Port Hueneme, El Rio, Saticoy, Santa Paula, Fillmore, Piru, and surrounding communities. With a team of licensed therapists and youth specialists, the organization has been recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work 2024” by the Workforce Development Board of Ventura County.
