Ventura County Workforce Board Receives National Honor

The Workforce Development Board of Ventura County (WDBVC) has received the 2026 WIOA Trailblazer Award from the National Association of Workforce Boards, recognizing the agency’s leadership, innovation, and regional partnerships in workforce development.

The national award honors one workforce board each year for excellence in strategic planning and labor market forecasting. WDBVC was selected from more than 570 workforce development boards across the country.

The WDBVC partners with employers, educational institutions, labor organizations, and nonprofit agencies to provide workforce solutions throughout Ventura County. These efforts include job training, career pathway programs, youth workforce services, and employer support initiatives designed to strengthen the region’s economy.

“Our community shows every day what is possible when employers, educators, nonprofit partners, and local leaders come together with a shared commitment to lifting people up,” said Rebecca Evans, Executive Director of the Workforce Development Board of Ventura County. “We are honored to play a part in creating pathways that change lives and strengthen the fabric of our county.”

Workforce Development Board of Ventura County connects job seekers with local employers while helping businesses address workforce and labor market needs through training, resources, and regional collaboration.
