Although Ventura Yacht Club is primarily a boating community, owning one is not a prerequisite for membership. If you and your family are enthusiastic about boating, water-minded, or even looking for a great friendship and social life, then that’s all that counts!
VYC is focused on the growth of all types of boating among all experience levels and ages by hosting: workshops on racing and general boat handling; on the water activities in VYC’s own dinghies, SUP’s, and kayaks; and cruises across the coast and Channel Islands. In addition to boating, we also have a very active social program centered around the club’s restaurant and bar.
The club has its own managed and operated marina with 90 slips of varying length, and has reciprocal privileges with yacht clubs throughout the US and abroad. Regular members are invested in the club, which has an Open Membership Policy, with several membership options ranging from Regular membership through Trial, Convertible, and Junior. The VYC Youth Sailing Program offers an exciting opportunity for young sailors to learn and develop their skills on the water. Whatever your child’s experience, our program provides expert instruction in a fun, safe, and supportive environment with its range of day camps, private lessons, and travelling race teams. Sailors will master the fundamentals of boat handling and teamwork, while also building confidence, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Our experienced coaches focus on fostering a love for sailing, environmental stewardship, and personal growth, with the goal of instilling a sense of initiative, independence, and accomplishment!
