Los Padres ForestWatch recently announced the launch of the Wine for Wilderness Passport, a first-of-its-kind fundraiser uniting 24 sustainably-minded Central Coast wineries with iconic public lands across the region. The Passport invites wine lovers and outdoor adventurers to sip, hike, and protect the wild places they love.
“California’s wine country is defined by its wild places—their clean water, scenic backdrops, and incredible biodiversity,” said Jeff Kuyper, Executive Director of Los Padres ForestWatch. “This Passport allows folks to enjoy the best of both worlds: world-class wine and an opportunity to directly support wildlife, wilderness, water, trails, and open space throughout Los Padres National Forest and Carrizo Plain National Monument.”
The Wine for Wilderness Passport is your ticket to a full year of tasting, exploring, and supporting the wild places you love. Passport holders enjoy complimentary tastings at 24 participating wineries, each carefully selected for their sustainable practices, from Paso Robles, Edna Valley, and Santa Ynez Valley, through Santa Barbara and down to Ojai and Ventura. Every tasting room is paired with a nearby trail in Los Padres National Forest or surrounding public lands, creating an inspiring blend of outdoor exploration and local wine. Participating wineries say the partnership reflects a strong connection between the region’s vineyards and surrounding natural landscapes.
“We are honored to be included in this meaningful initiative,” said Anna deLaski, owner of Solminer Wine Co. and Los Padres ForestWatch Board Member. “Solminer is rooted in the belief that great wine begins with healthy ecosystems, and we’re proud to stand among wineries that share that same dedication to sustainability. Protecting the Central Coast’s public lands is not just essential for our vineyards—it’s vital for future generations to enjoy the landscapes that make this region so special.”
Passports are valid for the entire 2026 calendar year and are available at forestwatch.org/passport.
