Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County celebrated a tremendous success with its annual Women Build event in Camarillo. The event brought together nearly 80 Habitat Ventura staff, sponsors, and volunteers who worked alongside partner families to help construct their eight new homes- offering a hand up towards affordable homeownership and a brighter future.
The collaborative effort highlighted the strength and determination of a community united for a common cause, with Bank of America as the Presenting Sponsor, Carpenter Sponsors, AAA and Edison, Hard Hat Sponsor, HR Business Solutionz, and Community Sponsors, H.O.M.E. and Nichols Planning & Development.
“The Women Build event not only addressed the urgent need for affordable and safe housing in Ventura County but also fosters leadership, skill development, and community involvement among its participants. It was inspiring to see so many women come together to make a tangible difference,” said Darcy Taylor, CEO at Habitat Ventura, “Their dedication and hard work are a testament to what we can achieve when we unite for a common cause.”
“Our female colleagues always look forward to participating in the annual Women Build event as a memorable way to help make homeownership a reality – while also honing our own homebuilding and construction skills as women,” said Midge Campbell-Thomas, Bank of America president Ventura and Santa Barbara. “As a longtime sponsor and partner with Habitat for Humanity Ventura County, we know the incredible impact the organization makes for families and the local Ventura community.”
