County Shelter at 143% Capacity With 4th of July Looming

By Ventura Breeze Staff –

Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS) has reached 143% capacity — and with the anticipated increase in lost pets due to 4th of July fireworks, the Camarillo and Simi Valley Shelters are in crisis mode.

To help ease the strain, VCAS is offering free dog adoptions June 27th – July 13th.  Community members are urged to open their homes to a family member while helping make space for incoming animals.
