Forever Homes Wanted

By Ventura Breeze Staff

Photo of Jasper, a sweet Pitbull with a missing eye.Hi, I’m Jasper, a very sweet 7-year-old Pitbull-mix who hasn’t had it easy. I was found abandoned in a field, in need of medical care. I’ve had two surgeries, including the removal of an eye, and I’ve recovered from pneumonia. After all that, I still soldier on with a smile on my face. I need a home with no other dogs, and it’s unknown if I’m good with children or cats. I hope someone will see what a special guy I am and take me home soon. If you’re not ready to adopt, I wouldn’t mind being in a foster home.

Photo of Smokey - a pretty black Chow wearing a green bandana.Hi, I’m Smokey, a handsome 6-year-old chow in need of a new home. My training is impeccable—I don’t try to rush out of the gate, and I sit and stay until given a command. I can pull a little bit on the leash, so I will need some work on my walking manners. I need a home with no small children, though older children who know how to be respectful may be OK. I must be the only dog in the home and will need an experienced owner who is knowledgeable about chows. It’s unknown how I’d do with cats.

Photo of Nellie - a sweet black Chow.Hi, I’m Nellie, an affectionate and loving chow who loves to play with my three foster siblings. I still have my sassy chow moments, but I am learning and growing into an amazing dog. I will need continued socialization and structure to maintain my confidence and overcome my shyness and nervousness. The more I learn and trust, the less nervous I am. I currently live with three other dogs, and we get along. I am both crate-trained at night and potty-trained. I love long walks, and I’ve been doing well with a gentle leader, but I still have some room for improvement.
