Hi, I’m Amber, a very sweet, almost 8-year-old Boxer mix. I was abandoned at CARL’s Pet Care Center by another rescue that had been boarding me. What I did to deserve that, I’ll never know. The good news is I’m now finally able to go on walks and interact with the wonderful CARL volunteers! The kennel manager says I’m friendly with strangers, although I haven’t been fully socialized with other dogs yet. I participated in a playgroup session recently, and while I was a bit stiff, I did seem interested in playing. They think I just need more experience being around other dogs in a safe, social setting. I wouldn’t do well in a home with cats. Volunteers say I’m a great walker and not reactive to other dogs on leash. I’ve also walked on a treadmill (and really enjoyed it!), know basic commands like “paw,” and take treats gently.
Come meet me! And if you already have a furry friend at home, please bring them along too for a meet-and-greet to see if we’re a match.

Hi, I’m Sadie, a very active 3-year-old Boxer/Pit Bull mix looking for a new home. I don’t always get along with the cats in my current home, so I need a cat-free environment. I’m well-mannered, friendly with people, and do especially well in calm surroundings. Loud noises scare me, so I’d thrive best in a quiet home. I need daily exercise and would make a great running partner—I love to run! I also enjoy playing ball and frisbee. I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and have had formal training. I know commands like “come” and “sit,” and I’m still working on “stay.” I’m not good with small dogs, and it’s unknown how I do with larger dogs. I do great with older children, but I haven’t been around younger kids.
If you’re looking for a loyal and energetic companion, I might be the perfect fit!
Both of these amazing dogs being cared for by the Canine Adoption and Rescue League (CARL). Could you provide a forever home for one of these wonderful pets? To read full pet bios and submit an application, visit www.CARLDogs.org or call 805-644-7387.
