The Chalk Festival returns to the Ventura Harbor Village with all-day sidewalk chalk painting, art vendor booths, and many opportunities for attendees to participate in arts activities….like the Paint & Sips that will be offered at the Buenaventura Art Center twice per day with various instructors over the course of the two-day festival.
On Saturday, Sept. 13: Adonna Ebrahimi will host two sessions of Coffee, Canvas & Croissants – Join Adonna for a relaxing morning or afternoon at the Buenaventura Art Center with coffee, croissants, and a harbor view provided! On Sunday, Sept 14, artists Joanne Grimm and Jem Morris-Atwater will also offer free coffee and croissants as you try your hand at a couple of alternative mediums — dot painting on rocks and pastels!
Participant Fee: $45 pp for any session
Saturday sessions
- Coffee, Canvas & Croissants – Session one – California Poppy, 11am – 1pm:
We’ll paint the beloved California Poppy using playful tools like Q-tips, feathers ( yep, that’s right!) and even fingers. No experience needed. - Coffee, Canvas & Croissants – Session two – Pink Sunset, 2 – 4pm:
With bubble wrap, key cards, and Q-tips as our “brushes”, you’ll create texture and waves in a fun, no-stress way, painting a pink sunset beach scene.
Sunday sessions
- Coffee, Canvas & Croissants – Session one – Mandala Rocks, 11am – 1pm
Okay, this one isn’t with a canvas, but Joanne Grimm will show you how to create a mandala on a rock with her dot painting technique in black and white. - Coffee, Canvas & Croissants – Session two – Pumpkin Harvest Pastels, 2 – 4pm
Jem Morris will lead you in painting a pumpkin / autumn harvest scene in pastels.
