4-08 | 7:30am, received a request from the Manson Dredge for traffic control. The dredge is heading in due to the predicted foul weather. Rescue Boat 19 and 17 responded to assist the large barge with traffic control to safely return to port.
6:33pm, contacted via VHF 16/12 by the captain of a transiting 54ft sailboat requesting moorage due to the gale warning. They were heading South from Oregon but wished to avoid the rough conditions for the night. Officers were able to assist the vessel with an escort to a slip in the Ventura Harbor Village. |
4-09 | 3:35pm, dispatched to a water rescue, windsurfer trapped in the Ventura Pier pilling’s. Officers responded and assisted State Parks and VFD with the call.
5:05pm, Beach Hazard assessment: officers observed very rough conditions at South Beach/Surfers Knoll. West winds gusting to 25kts and 6-8ft NW swells. |
4-10 | 6:25pm, dispatched to an ill person at a restaurant in the village. Officers responded and assisted VFD/Goldcoast ambulance with an 82 year old female. |
4-11 | 1:05pm, received a dispatch to a structure fire at Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and assisted a tenant with a sparking microwave. No fire. |
4-12 | 2:03pm, while on patrol in Rescue boat 19, officers contacted the skipper of a small inflatable for speeding in the main channel of the harbor. The operator was warned for various violations; no lifejacket, registration and speeding.
5:11pm, dispatched to a water rescue, kite surfer in distress near the Ventura Pier. Officers responded in Fireboat 1 and assisted Ventura FD, State Parks and AMR with the call. No injuries were sustained and the kite was returned. 8:17pm, dispatched to a fall victim at the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded, assisted VFD/AMR with a 83 year old male. |
4-13 | 12:45am, received dispatch to medical, abdominal pain in RiverHaven community. Officers responded and assisted VFD/AMR with the call.
11:11am, received report of a medical at Harbor cove. Officers advised fire dispatch of an individual having trouble breathing. The patient was treated and transported by AMR to local hospital for further evaluation. 3:20pm, dispatched to a patient fainting and experiencing nausea in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and assisted VFD/AMR with the elderly patient who was transported to local hospital for evaluation. |
4-14 | 3:55pm, dispatched to an ill person in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and assisted VFD/AMR with the call.
8:00pm, observed a heavy fog bank roll in, less than ½ mile visibility. Officers activated the South jetty fog signal, keying VHF 81 five times to do so. |
4-15 | 1:25am, received a report of an audible alarm sounding somewhere in Ventura Isle Marina. Officers responded and after investigating found the source of the alarm. The vessel was in no danger, turned out to be a failing CO2 alarm. |
4-16 | 8:27am, dispatched to a medical at the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded and assisted VFD/AMR with a female who suffered a hip dislocation. The patient was transported to local hospital for further evaluation
4:45pm, received a request for a boat tow from a disabled motor vessel. |
