In recognition of National Police Week, the Ventura Police Department invites community members to join Chief David Dickey and local officers for Coffee with a Cop on Tuesday, May 12, from 8 – 9:30 am at Daylight and Moon Cafe.
This informal gathering provides an opportunity for residents to connect directly with the officers who serve their neighborhoods, ask questions, share concerns, and learn more about public safety efforts in Ventura. With no set agenda or speeches, Coffee with a Cop is designed to encourage open conversation and build trust in a relaxed setting.
“Strong relationships are one of the most effective tools we have in preventing crime and improving safety,” said Chief David Dickey. “Taking time during National Police Week to connect with our community is especially meaningful. These conversations help build trust and allow us to work together to address concerns before they become larger problems.”
Coffee with a Cop is part of the Ventura Police Department’s ongoing commitment to community policing, emphasizing transparency, accessibility, and collaboration. Events like this help strengthen partnerships between officers and the community, ultimately contributing to a safer and more connected Ventura. All residents, business owners, and community members are encouraged to attend.
