Update: Sexual Assault Investigation Near Thille Park – Arrest Made

After a thorough and exhaustive investigation, the suspect of this sexual assault has been identified as Kevin Guerrero, a 25-year-old Ventura vagrant who is on parole for Penal Code Section 245(a)(1). Не was located in Ventura by detectives, arrested, and booked into the Ventura County Jail for violations of Penal Code Sections 209(b)(1) and 261(a)(2).

The Ventura Police Department is actively investigating a sexual assault that occurred near Thille Park on Monday, August 11, 2025, between approximately 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The victim, an adult female, was jogging near Saratoga Avenue and Thille Street when an unknown man called out to her. She continued her route but noticed the man following her and closing the distance between them. The suspect then grabbed her, pulled her to the ground, sexually assaulted her, and fled the area on foot in an unknown direction. The victim returned home and reported the incident to police the following morning. The suspect is described as a dark-skinned male, approximately 5’6” to 5’9” tall, with a slim build, who may have a stutter. At the time of the incident, he was reportedly wearing dark clothing. Following the report and over the past 24 hours, Ventura Police detectives have continuously investigated this case through a variety of methods, including increased patrols in the neighborhood and other investigative techniques. As part of these efforts, investigators have also been canvassing door-to-door to gather video and speak with potential witnesses. “Our number one priority is the safety of our community,” said Ventura Police Chief David Dickey. “We are using every available resource to find the person responsible, and we encourage everyone to help by reporting anything suspicious and sharing any video footage that could assist in the investigation. We will continue to provide updates as the case progresses.” Residents are encouraged to stay alert and aware of their surroundings, especially in secluded or low-visibility areas, and to call 9-1-1 immediately if they see any suspicious or illegal behavior. Whenever possible, travel with a friend or in groups and let someone know your route and expected return time. Ventura Police increased patrols in the area and are actively working to keep everyone safe.
