Narrative:
On August 14, 2025, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the Ventura Police Department Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call reporting an injury traffic collision in the area of Wells Road and Darling Road. Patrol officers responded and located two involved drivers.
An 82-year-old male driver sustained significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The second driver suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was also transported to the hospital. Ventura Police Department Traffic Investigators responded to the scene to continue the investigation. At this time, it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased once next- of-kin notifications have been made.
