Three-Play Festival of Classics at Rubicon Theater

By Ventura Breeze Staff –

Milford and Deanna Supplee star in two shows as part of a thrilling three play festival of classics performed in repertory at Rubicon Theatre Company, presented in partnership with The Acting Company of New York (TAC) and Play On Shakespeare. During the festival, the company will also offer associated education and outreach programs for high school and college students.

The productions include Pulitzer Prize-winner August Wilson’s Two Trains Running, a moving story of hope and resilience set in a Pittsburgh diner during the Civil Rights Movement, a vibrant modern verse translation of Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors by Christina Anderson, and August Wilson’s How I Learned What I Learned, an autobiographical one-man show about, arguably, the greatest playwright of the twentieth century.

Two Trains Running is directed by Lili-Anne Brown, The Comedy of Errors is directed by Devin Brain, and Jenny Sullivan is directing How I Learned What I Learned. Two Trains Running opens January 18, with previews starting January 15, and runs through February 2. The Comedy of Errors will have three exclusive public performances on January 19, 21, and 28; and How I Learned What I Learned is January 27. Rubicon Theatre Company is honored to be the first theatre to launch TAC’s national tour. Performances take place at the Rubicon Theatre, located at 1006 E. Main Street in Ventura’s Downtown Cultural District.
