From Cab Driver to Carnegie

Hall with David Singer E.P. Foster Library Topping Room, Saturday, June 7, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

Grammy-winning clarinetist David Singer, former Orpheus Chamber Orchestra member, tells stories from his memoir, From Cab Driver to Carnegie Hall, punctuated by music. Covering the California native’s performances on some of the world’s most revered stages and with world-renowned musicians Yo-Yo Ma and Yehudi Menuhin, as well as his day job as a cab driver, the program is sure to be fascinating A book signing will follow the program, and books will be for sale at the event. This event is free and open to the public.

Currently the Ventura County resident coaches young musicians throughout California and performs with both the Singer Chamber Players and the Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra.
