In response to a recent Ventura Breeze article highlighting the need at Ventura Community College (VCC), local State Farm agents stepped up to raise money and help stock the college’s Basic Needs Pantry. Using October as a month-long opportunity to give back, agents Dena Rogers, Barbara Ortiz-Lee, Stephanie Sipes, and Irene Henry organized fundraisers to support students in need.
The group recently presented a check for $3,000 along with food and supply items to the Ventura Community College Foundation to benefit the pantry. The funds and donations were raised from and within the community, reflecting the agents’ commitment to being “good neighbors” and supporting local initiatives.
“This is our inaugural event, and we’re very excited to make it a yearly tradition every October,” said Irene Henry. The agents hope their efforts will inspire continued support for the pantry and encourage others to get involved.
