Shelter Pet Spotlight

Meet Luma, our featured Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS) shelter pet! Luma is an 8-year-old pup who’s strong, easygoing, and full of charm. In the yard, he’s content to wander independently and chew on a toy, but he also loves checking in for pets and companionship. A huge fan of treats, he’ll sit eagerly with the biggest smile on his face.

Though Luma has been at the shelter longer than most, he remains a happy, people-loving dog. He can be a bit of a puller on leash—only because he’s so excited to be outside! After a walk, he’s even been known to flop down like a pancake because he doesn’t want to return to his kennel. Hopefully, Luma will soon find his forever home and will never have to go back into a kennel again.

Visit Luma’s profile for more information. Go meet Luma at Ventura County Animal Services! Adoption fees for pitties and pittie mixes are waived through Sept. 7 (a $25 licensing fee applies for Ventura County residents). Schedule an appointment at vcas.us/adopt or stop by during regular adoption hours, open seven days a week from 1 to 6 p.m.
